Just curious -
Now that Urban has made the jump to tOSU, what's the feelings of most Gator fans? I'm curious if you guys have the same disdain for him that most all LSU fans have for Nick $atan.

not the same. the equivalent would be like CUM going to UGA. saban was cheered when he played an NFL game in TS in 05.

No disdain until I heard a recruiting story about how he said UF had arrest and drug problems. I can't believe he actually went there.

This is a new and interesting thread concept.

I'm glad he is gone. It is clear that he left because he knew he couldn't compete. His last year was a disaster, and left the team in disarray. There are rumors of infidelities from both sides that might mitigate some of the incompetence of the last year, but his actions after he took tOSU job makes me think he is a jerk. What goes around comes around. I have no personal bad feelings, and I'm honestly sick of the topic. I moved on.

where to start with this one...
1. we are your rival now?
2. did Urban make a stop in the nfl for a couple years, or did he just quit when the going got tough?

Really? Why not?
I mean, this is the guy who told a recruit that god spoke to him in a dream.

We do play in the same conference in the same division and have a long history.
Would you say that Florida and OSU have the same relationship?

Gator fans,
If you ever defended his recruiting, don't feel butt hurt now that he has done it to you. He is the same guy he has always been. He has always been a lying, crying, unethical piece of garbage. It's just that he is no longer your lying, crying, unethical piece of garbage.

I understand what Saban did as far as going to the NFL. I could see how it would piss me off if he went to Bama after leaving LSU only a few year earlier. Saban tried the NFL and didn't like it. But what Urban did was worse.
He just... quit. More time with the "family"? Sure...
With that said, after the 2010 debacle I'm glad he's gone. The type of coach he became after his "health scare" was not a good one. He was not as intense, not as motivated and seemed to not care as much. He SHOULD have left after 2009. If he coaches like he did in 2010 (which he will if he doesn't want another "health scare"), they are so fricked it's not even funny.
Like I said before, a good percentage of his success should be attributed to Mullen, Strong and Robinson.
On top of all of that, we are slowly finding out that he's a god awful liar. I could care less if he lied to the fans. I'd expect that. But when you lie to current players, coaches and recruits then you're a POS. And we're finding out that he's a still a POS.

The god dream was not true according to the recruit. I'm all for bashing him for real events though.

Thanks for the special teams, Urbs.

In 2008 Urban told a guy that I went to HS with that he was recruiting that "Nick Saban wouldnt be at Alabama in 2 years."
Urban is a scumbag and always will be.

He went there with Patrick Peterson. He is dirty and wish him all the worst.

Don't give two shits about CUM, but yeah, he's a shite bag. Funny that Florida fans are now admitting that.

Saban going to Bama is apples and oranges to Meyer going to The OSU. What Saban did is akin to Patton changing sides and fighting for the Nazis.

The maching he put together at Utah was nothing short of astonishing.
His final 2 years at Utah, every game was over by the middle of the 1st quarter.
I was honestly nervous about him moving into the league and building up UF to be a monster.
I was not expecting the intensity of the league to do him in as soon as it did.
