Any Alabama fan should be prepared to see Jameis Winston sign with a baseball franchise next July. However, I think Alabama needs to sign him for public perception, at the very least. Regardless, Alabama could luck into a more veteran QB down the road, if he signs with UA and baseball doesn't work out.

Where are you getting this? It's sure not what I'm hearing.

I fully expect Alabama to have a tremendous chance to close out with Eddie Goldman, Cyrus Jones, Jameis Winston, and Jordan Jenkins.

Much better wording, going around beating your chest about being the "favorite" of all these guys at this point will make you look really dumb if you only land 2 of them. Clearly you weren't the favorite at this point then. I agree Bama has a good chance to land these guys, LC included. But you can't say you're the definitive favorite for all of those guys wihtout merely being a homer in some cases.

Like floridas 2010 class? Had the number 1 prospect at 4 or 5 positions

The easy thing is to point to Florida's 2010 class. However, they weren't even the #1 class that year. Regardless, fans are not going to wait 3-4 years to judge a class. You and I both know that. People want to put expectations on it now. Any class with a lot of "stars" in it will get hyped. In the Rivals era, that has worked out most of the time. Every #1 class has seen a national title at some point in their career.

And for the record, this came from Winston's own mouth: "Football is my passion. I love baseball, too, but football is my true love," Winston said.

I thought we were going to be "lucky" just to get 2 of them?

Wasn't it 08 when UF had "the greatest recruiting class ever"?

2004 USC and 2007 USC had incredible star power...8 5*'s in 2004 and 6 in 2007.

Of the four I listed, I believe Alabama is a heavy favorite for Jordan Jenkins and Cyrus Jones. I think most analysts expect Jameis Winston to renege on Florida State. I don't think anyone is going to call me out on predicting that kind of finish, only to miss on one of those four.

Sounds like the same stuff that came from every football/baseball recruit's mouth before the money rolled in.

Come on man, you're better than this, they ALL say stuff like that.

Who is going to come out and say "im all baseball" when they are a great football prospect too? They are all playing the game to see ultimately what puts them in best position either way, then take what route is best for them.

He's like so many of the other LSU posters who make broad statements about how "everybody's" saying this or that, or "it's the opinion of many". It's just like how we kept hearing "ESPN and all the analysts hate us" from LSU posters all over the rant leading up to November 5.

you may be right, but FWIW, he could have said he liked both sports equally.. but he didn't.

Still waiting on that link of all these baseball experts claiming Winston is a first round prospect thunderbird. Still waiting.

Well here is a link to the top 25 high school baseball prospects in the country, which is less than a month old. It obviously doesn't include college players, but it obviously doesn't include Jameis Winston either. Enjoy.

LINK

LOL, like this means anything. He still has a senior season to play, a lot can change either way in the next several months before the draft. You do realize the first 2 rounds in baseball is almost 100 picks, right (including sandwich round)? And like any Top prospects ranking, the teams don't go based on that nearly close to exact. Also, once again, even if he fell to 3rd/4th/5th rounds, if the right team gets him, they can offer him a good bit of money still.

The more and more coming out recently leads me to believe LSU will be his choice. We're his home-town school, our players have worked on him very hard and is close to him now. It's more likely we get him than you do at this point (which I think most of your fanbase would agree), but I'm definitely not going to write off Bama, anything can happen.

Link it up to a bunch of LSU fans parading around saying we were the favorite for him, I am on the LSU recruiting board basically every day and I never once saw it, not over here either. Nobody knew what he was going to do till he announced.
