State was two plays and inches away from a 8-4 record and if they won this bowl game....State could have been 9-4 again this year......
Next year, State could be 11-2 in regular season and 12-2 with another bowl win......

State is and will continue to be State
nope, Mullen is bring State up and people like you can't stand it.........

actually it's the opposite. we always lose to bama and lsu. might as well take those losses on the road instead of a game we can win. arkansas is at home.

Do you know that in the last 10 years you have only beaten Arkansas and LSU a single time combined (damn you Croom) and have beaten Alabama 3 times.

You do realize the game wasn't over if Relf scored at the end of the 4th quarter, right?

that would be incorrect
I said I thought we would be ok there though...I definitely underestimated the depth we had returning...
And as I clearly stated- having the left side of our OL hurt 9 Quarters into the season was a killer

Absolutely. Of course I know that. You are not LSU or Bama though. You can deal with it.

Auburn is so far below Bama and LSU it isn't even funny

Oct. 27, at Alabama (Tuscaloosa)
Nov. 3, vs. Texas A&M (Starkville)
Nov. 10, at LSU (Baton Rouge)
Nov. 17, vs. Arkansas (Starkville)
This will be a tough stretch....A Split would be nice....

We have a winning record over A&M all time.
Barely, 3-2.
1 L 11-16-1912 7 - 41 Houston, TX
2 W 11-01-1913 6 - 0 Dallas, TX - State Fair
3 W 11-25-1915 7 - 0 Dallas, TX
4 L 10-09-1937 0 - 14 Tyler, TX
5 W 12-31-2000 43 - 41 Shreveport, LA - Independence Bowl
Amazing at how games from the 1910's are relevant to next season. Isn't it MSU fans who are the one's talking about history not being relevant?

"A LT isn't as important in Mullen's style of offense as a normal one. We'll be fine."
-typical MSU fan on this board last Summer(Bundy, Klong, Dumbass, etc.)
also.......someone who has played nothing but DT for the past 3-4 years will be fine at replacing Sherrod because he played LT in High school.

If you're one of those that buys into star rankings, then they say that Auburn is pretty much on par with LSU and Bama. They're consistently pulling top 5 classes and will be good again shortly. State had their window to beat them this year and didn't get it done.
I see State at 7-5 next year.

I dont care what "they" say- Auburn is not on Bama and LSU's level

Weren't you one of those that said they wouldn't be bowl eligible this year? Furthermore, didn't you say that State would beat them by two touchdowns? They had a tough year coming off of an NC because of inexperience and replacing 16 starters. They won't suck forever like the SEC Rant believes.

Oh here we go again.....

I think Dale Denton sits at the computer waiting for a thread about MSU so he can be the first to post a flame in it. Pathetic
I like our schedule for this year, we have some good guys coming back, and a lot of young guys that are very talented (Dak, Quay, Autry) that will be good with some experience. These early games will allow our coaches to work out the kinks with them, and some wins to gain confidence before the meat of the schedule.
We return Russell at QB, with Prescott who is supposed to be very good. Ladarius Perkins, and all of our Wide Receivers 2 deep are returning. We return Clausell, Gabe Jackson, and Dillon Day at OL. Will be young on the O line, easy early games are crucial to give them time to gel. Fortunately these guys are all the same age, and will be the O line for the next 2-3 years.
We return Eulls at DE, Boyd and Jones at DT along with Quay Evans. Lawrence and Skinner at LB. Broomfield at CB. Both safeties graduated. Hopefully Banks and Cox stay, Imo they need to, especially Banks. If they both stay, then our D will be stout, should still be solid either way, but much better if they stay.
All guys mentioned above either started this season, or rotated in regularly.
My thoughts on our schedule
Sept. 1, Jackson State (Starkville) easy W
Sept. 8, Auburn (Starkville) Toss up, games have been close past 2 years, with losing malzahn and it being in Starkville, I think we win this one finally.
Sept. 15, at Troy (Troy, Ala.) Win
Sept. 22, South Alabama (Starkville) Win
Oct. 6, at Kentucky (Lexington) Win
Oct. 13, vs. Tennessee (Starkville) Will be an interesting game, they have looked terrible and it's in Starkville. They have a solid passing attack, if Banks and Cox return we win this game because of better coverage and QB pressure. I'll mark this as a win, but may change it later after we see what Cox and Banks decide to do.
Oct. 20, Middle Tennessee (Starkville) Win
Oct. 27, at Alabama (Tuscaloosa) Bama loses some guys on D, will rely on offense this year. IF we come in this game ranked at 7-0 or 6-1, I think we put up a good fight but lose by about 14 in the end.
Nov. 3, vs. Texas A&M (Starkville) TAMU loses some playmakers this year. They choked this past season and only went 6-6 in the Big 12. Next year is rebuilding for them, this game is late in the season and they will be more beat up than us due to tougher earlier schedule. I see us winning this one in Starkville.
Nov. 10, at LSU (Baton Rouge) Loss... assraped with no lube
Nov. 17, vs. Arkansas (Starkville) Arky returns a lot, including Davis and Wilson. We will put up a battle in Starkville, but lose this one.
Nov. 24, at Ole Miss (Oxford) Not sure what they will look like with a new coach, but I think we win this one. It will take OM a couple years to get back on track.
My official prediction is 8-4, because I think we end up splitting AU-Tenn. I don't think Cox or Banks will return for their senior year, but if they do I will say the 9-3 scenario above is very possible if we stay injury free.
9-3 at best with that schedule. I say we end up 8-4. A 6-6 season would be a failure with that schedule.
