Just because GSU is an FCS doesn't mean they are terrible. Last I checked sagarin who does all of Division I rankings together (200-250 teams) GSU was in the 70's, obviously above a ton of FBS teams.

I called Bama getting more of a game than they bargained for because I know GSU ball really well. We run the triple option at GSU with a QB transfer from Georgia Tech (Connor Shaw's older brother, actually). We are an extremely efficient offense and Alabama had a short week to prepare and they hadn't faced a triple option offense since the 1990's. It's not an offense you only want a week to prepare for.

For those that don't know, GSU is a great team in FCS, 9-2 overall and the 3rd overall seed in the playoffs. Not excusing Bama's performance, but if you knew more about the opponent, you would of saw this game coming. The game was closer than the final score indicated too, Bama got some nice calls to go their way, then they ran up the score at the very end of the game with starters playing entire game.

Alabama fans must be humbled into saying their team doesn't deserve a free trip to the NC Game. Maybe they are the second best team. But their results from this year do not back up such a statement. Their chance to prove their worth ended in a loss, despite LSU playing arguably its worst game of the year, where turning the ball over and unable to score in the red zone became the hallmark of LSU's otherwise prolific offense.
