according to the computers
@lsu>(n)lsu
@bama>>>@stanford
USCe>USC
(n)Texas A&M>>ASU
Auburn=@washington (at best)
...and from there it goes down hill for oregon. I just don't see how it's even debatable. The pac 12 sucks big time this year.

The BCSSG will pit the number 1 and number 2 ranked teams in the BCS poll after all regular season and CCG's are played.
If LSU wins out, and everyone else has one loss, it comes down to who the voters want to see.
Now, if Bama wins out, it will be really interesting to see if the voters vote for who they truly believe is the second best team at that point (which would be Bama), or if they want to put someone else in the game.

quote:Never said there was. Who's to say that Alabama is one of the two best teams? They're certainly not the best team because they've been beaten by the current best team. Oklahoma has not. Why should Alabama get another chance to try to show they are the best team when Oklahoma hasn't had a chance.
There is nothing in the BCS rules that say the 2 best teams will play in the game except when those 2 teams have already played one another.

And #2 isn't based only on what they did or didn't do against the current #1 team. That concept is so silly I'm embarrassed for LSU fans that are actually rationalizing their positions against Alabama and Oregon being in the title game by using it.
What is so hard to grasp about the fact that the second best team does not always make it to the championship game? Sometimes the best team loses early on. I guess if we had a regular tournament, this concept would be more clear for you, but we do not...the season is tournament. Will it be fair for a 1 loss OU to jump Bama? Probably more fair than a Bama team who already got to play LSU to get a second chance. Is either solution perfect? No...all the more reason Bama should have taken care of business when they had a chance.

And you think LSU fans are being irrational because we feel someone other than Alabama or Oregon should play in the BCSCG?
No, what's irrational is throwing a team in the NCG that is undeserving over two other teams simply because they did not play LSU during the season.

there still isn't a rule excluding teams that didn't win their conference.
The rule is pretty much an unwritten rule barring some chaotic circumstances that can't avoid it.
And it's a pretty good unwritten rule. Any reasonable person would agree that a team that can't win its own conference doesn't deserve a chance to win the whole enchilada.
the didn't win their conference is not the argument against bama that I like
In a year where you have undefeated teams obviously you choose from those (and those are all obviously at least co-champs in their conference)
In a year where at least one participant in the BCS NCG has at least one loss? I will not make some arbitrary rule to say the in conference loss was more important than the out of conference loss
upsets happen and unless you lost to the #1 team you were upset in the game you lost... whether that was a game that cost you the conference, in conference but did not, or out of conference and had no bearing is an irrelevant issue IMO
IMO conference champion, best team in the conference, and most deserving of making the BCS NCG are all different discussions and potentially different teams

I've got a feeling some of you LSU fans are gonna have an emotional breakdown if Alabama is picked to play in the NC.

meh. LSU and Ok State are both going to win out. So, it won't matter. And, Bama is going to lose to Auburn.

Alabama is undefeated in regulation
Only lost by 3 points in overtime to the #1 team in the nation
Put up better numbers than the #1 team in the nation
Oklahoma got beat by a shitty TT team.
Ask yourself who YOU had rather play in the BCSCG and I promise it isn't Alabama. Everyone knows we are the 2nd best team in the country.
None of this matters. There will never be another team in the BCSNCG that doesn't win it's own conference.

Thank goodness it does not matter how we react..only how the team prepares...and I am sure they will be fired up no matter who it is.
Provided we make it of course.

No question about it. It's bullshite if Alabama or Oregon get a second crack at LSU.
We beat you. Move on with your lives.

It's hilarious Bama fans even think they deserve a rematch and even more hilarious they think they have a shot of getting one. Bama's only shot is LSU losing. Period. Personally, I don't think Okie St loses, so this is all a waste of time. But, after Championship week, IF Okie St loses, Bama will be jumped by Oregon or OU. This is college football, not the NFL. You don't win your own division in your conference, you are out. Deal with it! This is excluding the most important part as well; MONEY. No way the commissioners of both the Pac 12 and Big 12 allow the SEC to pocket all the BCSNC game money. Wake up fools..You don't get invited to the party just cause your Bama and you got Saban.

The problem is bama is going to feel like old news when lsu plays arkansas and georgia in back to back weeks and OU plays three conference games in the next 3 weeks finishing with a huge game at OSU. The media types will be eating that shite up. Bama is done moving up in the polls unless lsu/ou/osu start losing.
