LSU was outperformed in every major statistical category on offense and defense. Twist it any way you want.
Bama's offense put up better numbers than LSU's offense, and Bama's defense put up better numbers than LSU's defense.
LSU's special teams kick our arse, which resulted in a loss.
Great game. LSU was better where it counted. Saban was outcoached.
Bama outperformed LSU in two of the three phases. It was marginal, but it happened. It doesn't matter how you twist it.

what were the offensive/defensive scoring statistics for this game?

Alabama reeled off 17 plays inside LSU's 30 yard line to the tune of negative-12 yards.
That's dominance, and it forced you to attempt FGs outside your kickers' ranges.

I also forgot about the stats obsession among some Bama fans.
Those stats are meaningless because you didn't have a FG kicker, and once you got inside the 30, you couldn't do ANYTHING.
It wasn't just our special teams that kicked your arse - our RED ZONE defense extended out to the 25-30 was complete shut down on your offense. Total domination.
With a terrible kicking game, it means that Bama didn't even sniff the end zone. At least LSU got the ball inside the 5 right before the half. Bama never did that.

What about the highly exalted "home field advantage" LSU had to overcome. bama has always prided themselves on having an intimidating atmosphere that wins games for them. If this game is on a LSU turf, does LSU outperform bama and win by an even wider margin?

Except rushing. Which is pretty key if you ask me.

Congrats on the moral victory. I'll take scoring more points over gaining more yards anyday though.
