For every LSU fan who mentions anything about Saban there are 2 Bama fans who are scared to death he may leave and try as hard as possible to convince everyone that he is staying. As an LSU fan, I could care less what he does. He has been gone for almost 7 years. He can stay there forever for all I care. I quit caring about him the day he left for Miami.

Pretend for a second you have a pretty wife who isn't your cousin (try at least). Would you go around bragging to her ex boyfriends that she is with you now? No because it makes you look sad and unconfident.

Terry is thrilled with being in Tuscaloosa. She is building 13 new homes for tornado victims and involved in many other organizations. Unless something happens to Saban's health, he will be here for a long time.

Despite the fact that you fricked the quote up, Saban more or less said these words on December 21, 2006. By January 3, 2007 he announced that he would indeed become the coach at Alabama.

By my calculations, we have him for roughly another two weeks. Awesome! That's enough time to drop one more beatdown on Tennessee. I'm going to enjoy it for the remaining time that we hav... wait. What?

You mean he's said that he plans to continue coaching at Alabama before? And he did?

Well, never mind then.

Who the frick are you talking to? I'm not scared of him leaving at all. If he leaves, he leaves and my life will go on.

Per Bobby Moore: Saban quoted," I will not take the job at Penn State."

If I had to choose between Saban and Miles, although Les Miles is hilarious- I'd take Saban every time. Saban is easily the best college football coach in the nation- and you can take that to the bank.

I personally don't think he's going anywhere but this is the exact thoughts LSU fans had before he left us. All we heard was how "Terry LOVES Baton Rouge! She said she planted oak trees in their yard and would be here to see them grow to be massive shade trees!!!!!" etc, etc. So, just because Terry says she loves it means shite. If Saban gets an itch, he's gone and she's gone with him.

You should hope he feels more excited than he looks. He looks like he's aged 10 years in the past 4 and looks burned out as hell.

Lord knows this is the truth. He's aged at least 10 yrs, but that is just part of the job when you're the HC at Bama.

If he stays he stays, if he goes he goes. I appreciated everything he's done to bring the Bama program back to life. There's absolutely nothing anyone can do to keep him if he's ready to go. Hell, he gets every damn thing he wants as it is........

Hes taking the job at UW after this year becaue of his close relationship with Emmert.

No I mean hes taking the ND job as soon as JTH is fired because he's catholic.

No he's actually taking his talents to Dallas because Jerry promised total control and he in fact met with Saban after the Arkansas game and Greg Mcelroy's dad and shite.

No he's going to be the coach of the Titans because he has accomplished all he can at the collegiate level and hates tuscaloosa.

No he wants to go back home to a low pressure job at West Virginia where he can eventully retire.

No he is going to follow in Joe Pa's footsteps.

No he <insert 2012 rumor here>

If he goes, y'all will get another great coach. Y'all won't have to settle for the Chizik's and Nutt's of the world../

I'm sure this was true. Then an opportunity came up and they mistakenly decided to leave. He learned his lesson, that's the only difference.

Exactly! Saban has paved the way for the future in more ways than one, IMO.

What else would he say? I have never heard a coach say I want to leave my current job ASAP.

You seem like a level-headed enough guy.

I'm honestly trying to understand the logic here. Bear with me and perhaps you can help me understand.

OK, so Saban leaves LSU to try his hand at the highest level of coaching; to wit, the NFL. The move made sense. Spurrier did the same thing.

Saban left the NFL because he wasn't cutting it on that level. Either his personality was incompatible with with the job or the players or whatever his trouble was. He went back to the college level where he knew he could succeed. The move made sense. Spurrier did the same thing.

Saban is now succeeding at a top five all-time program, doing the job he enjoys at the level at which he enjoys doing it. He's won another national championship and has a team geared up to make a run at another one. He's being paid a salary within what has to be the 96-99th percentile inside of his career field.

Where would the itch take him other than retirement? How would the move make sense without being an unrealistic stretch, logically?
