Right, you've been looking for reasons to bag on Chizik

Any coach who is hands off like that doesn't have my respect. I prefer head coaches who actually coach rather than let their assistants do it for them. Because once those assistants are gone it's going to be really difficult to find good replacements.

Take Gus Malzahn. Sooner or later he is going to be offered a head coaching job that he can't refuse. How do you replace someone like that? He is, without a doubt, the best offensive coordinator in America at the moment.

Saban is somewhat hands off on the offense but McElwain still runs the offense the way Saban wants it to be run. He still has some level of control over what the plays and schemes will be. I don't think Chizik is the same way and that's not good for the long term success of the program.

Well, I dunno on not having my respect, but I much prefer having a head coach that's not a CEO type. I'd prefer a head coach that controls one part of the team or another like Saban and Spurrier.
