Riddle me this, Danny Sheridan

So you claim to know the name of the bag man and witness or the location of the witness...but you will not release the names because your lawyers have advised you not to and you are worried that you will put your NCAA source at risk by doing so. You also claim to have known this source at the NCAA for 20-25 years.

This doesn't add up.

Question, Danny. Does the NCAA tend to protect info pretty well? Duh...yes. When was the last time anyone remembers legitimate info leaking out of the NCAA prematurely. They do a GREAT job of protecting info. They are not the CIA. The only way they protect information as well as they have is by limiting specific knowledge of investigations to those working on them directly, and their supervisors. Let's say, no more than 1/2 a dozen people within the NCAA know the names of the bag man and/or witness if in fact they exist. The NCAA must be aware of Danny's claims by now...everybody does. How difficult do you really think it is for the NCAA to ascertain which one of the NCAA staff members has had a multi-decade relationship with Danny Sheridan??

For arguments sake, let's say I'm wrong and there are 50 people within the NCAA that are aware of the details that Danny pumped faked everyone that he would release. How in the hell does it help the NCAA hone in on the source by Danny Sheridan releasing information THAT THEY ALL ALREADY KNOW??

This is the main problem I have with the rationale he used to not release the info that he said he would. If it is just a few people that know, then the NCAA already knows who the source is and the releasing of info that they already know does nothing to put that source at further risk...he is already burned. If it is many, than the releasing of information that they already know AGAIN, DOES NOTHING TO HELP THEM HONE IN ON THE SOURCE. In terms of the NCAA figuring out who has done what they NEVER do, leak information to a friggin odds maker, Danny Sheridan has already said all he needs to say and does not further complicate the situation for his source.

So either 1. Danny Sheridan has inexplicably outed his friend of 20-25 years without accomplishing a thing OR 2. The NCAA does not have the name of a bag man and/or witness. 3. The NCAA has not figured out whether or not they have enough info to move forward...if Danny releases the names and it is never underwritten by info later released by the NCAA, than Danny has put himself in the crosshairs of a slander suit and does not feel that he will be able to establish the best defense for slander: truth.

Is there a 4th scenario that I'm just not seeing? Or is Danny Sheridan the worlds biggest douche-nozzle Updyke?
