I like our DLine compared to anyone
Lets assume Montgomery is back 100%. Anthony Johnson is ready to play now.
We have
DT: Brockers, Logan, Downs, And Johnson in our 4 man DT rotation
DE: Montgomery, Mingo, Adams, Edwards, Aghayere, mixing in younger guys like Rasco, Maclin, and Allen.
Put Montgomery, Mingo, and Johnson and that one hell of a pass rush

USC, Arky, State, Bama, UF, and LSU will all have solid d-line's. LSU and Bama have as much raw talent as anyone but it is unproven.

You can't put State at 2 with their complete lack of anything at DE.

Yeah maybe, but Sean Furguson has started for basically 3 straight years and Stigers played well last year.
We'll have better rush DEs this year.

You people all on the USCe bandwagon because of Clowney?
Edit: I mean ask yourself this. Without Clowney, would you say USC has the best DL in the country because of Taylor and Ingram?

I don't think we have the 2nd best D-line… I would say our DT's are in the top 3 but we have questions as far as DE goes, you have to factor all of them together.. Right now I would put our D-line as 4th behind USCe, Arky, and LSU.
We could end up being top 3 on D-line if our ends perform well, but that has yet to be proven so you can't say we are 2nd as of right now based on what everyone else has.

It is really tough to rank them, IMO.
South Carolina has the most developed duo in Taylor and Ingram.
Arkansas' group was super-productive.
Miss State's DT's are great.
LSU is young but very talented and very dynamic.
You could probably say the same thing about Florida.
And then nobody is even talking about Bama and Georgia. You know Bama is going to be good, and I've been reading some things that makes me think Georgia is getting good at that 3-4 system.

Yes -- there is no better proven defensive end combo than Taylor and Ingram.
Not just because of those two -- include Travian Robertson in the equation. T-Rob is a physical specimen. He is the strongest player on the team and anchors the interior line freeing up the ends to pass rush.
The second tackle spot is the question mark. Could be Ingram -- and they might have it in mind to bulk him up to tackle size figuring Clowney will have to play. Or it could be Byron Jerideau at 6'0", 315. Jerideau came in last year as a fat blob of 350 pounds -- no stamina and no mobility. Or possibly undersized Aldrick Fordham at 6'4", 274.
Other factors are a top-notch defensive line coach in Brad Lawing working in Ellis Johnson's scheme, along with one of the better strength and conditioning programs in the SEC.

You really are dumb. The DL that UF featured last year was Trattou and Lemmens to go along with Sanders and Marsh.

Yeah statistically those two are the best returning. 16.5 sack between them. Arkansas' DE's, Bequette and Wright, had 13 sacks between them and are the next closest to the USC duo.

As the OP suggested, LSU will be very solid. injuries definitely hurt last season.
I heard on the radio (post officiating meeting)that teams better watch out with defensive holding this next season by d-linemen. Officials will be calling it. Also, substituting after running plays to your side of the field and sending in new players with different packages, will be stopped by the officials to allow defensive substitutions - spread teams will be hurt by this i.e slowing the game down a bunch. Believe it or not Baylor is a master of the substitution issue. That sneaky Art Briles!
The defensive linemen holding happens on play such as pulling on running plays, one DT might grab a tackle and a pulling guard to allow the LB make the play. it is their way of slowing down effective running games and spread offenses.
It is hard to catch because of where the play occurs, but the officials are going to look specuifically for it.

The 2010 DL was decent on the inside at times, when Howard was healthy and the coaches were actually letting Floyd play...
But most of the time it was just mediocre. The starting end play from Trattou and Lemmens was the worst at UF in, well, maybe forever. They combined for 4.5 sacks. That's all.
I will guarantee better production this year. It's a lock. UF will be much better and more athletic on the DL. This is not even up for debate.

Our starting DL and depth at DE is very good. My question is how will our 2nd line guys at DT produce. I just don't know about Downs and Logan at DT, I'm very comfortable with Freak and Brockers starting (Freak may not start initially but he will soon into the season IMO). Those 2 will be a force inside.

Auburn's defensive ends will be legit this season. Everyone should look out for Corey Lemonier, Nosa Equae, Craig Sanders, Dee Ford, LaDarius Owens, and Joel Bonomolo..
When Dee Ford came out of High School, he was a 6'3 205 defensive end running 4.4 4O yard dash. Now he's up to 245 pounds (and in the upper 4.5 range now, definitely our fastest defensive end). Craig Sanders is now up to 270 pounds, and has been playing defensive end and tackle (he will alternate depending on situation). LaDarius Owens just recently switched to defensive end from linebacker (he played defensive end in high school), and is up to 250 pounds.
Not much depth at defensive tackle to speak for.. We have Gabe Wright, Craig Sanders sometimes, Jeff Whitaker, Ken Carter, Angelo Blackson, Derrick Lykes, and Jamar Travis.
