Yeah I used to walk past that thing every day on my way to class.

Didn't there used to be two? I remember people talking about how they blew up the second one for the movie Hooper back in the 70's. Maybe someone with knowledge that goes further back than mine would know.

Yeah and whoever said that Paty needs to go is absolutely right. I hated living in that dump and I cant imagine its any better 17 years later.

The stack blown up in Hooper was in Tuscaloosa but not on campus. It was on the campus of the old Northington Hospital (military) which was located where University Mall now stands. I believe it was about 1978 that they filmed that movie.
