I get half life, but I would think that it would take a certain amount of time for the poison to reach the leaves or affect the leaves on different parts of the tree and that a rough timeline may be able to provided based on that. Again, I am mostly speculating and talking out of my arse, because I have no idea how the poison works or how it affects the trees.

That can be used to a certain extent, but its still dependent on how much poison is used. The tree's roots will absorb it faster if there is a higher percentage of it in the soil, and vice versa. The more in the soil, the faster it works.

Also, a tree is a big frickin plant, if there was very little used, there might not be enough to reach the top, and if it did, it would take a longer time to get there. If there was a shite ton of it, then it wouldnt take long at all for it to get there because there would be no shortage of it as it moved through the tree.
