Little known 1958 Season Story:

The girlfriends of some of the 1958 MNC team paintred their boyfriends toe nails purple & gold on game days.

Straight from a player's wife who was my next door neighbor as a kid.

1959 Ole Miss team. Only allowed one touchdown all year.

A sports illustrated cover from our less PC past. Ranked #7 college sports illustrated cover of all time, taken 1 week before integration.

Chucky Mullins with Billy Brewer

Don't know much about this pic

Tommy T with the egg

Ole Miss-Boston College 1948. Christian Brothers band

Kent Austin

1936 Orange Bowl team

Cory Peterson catching the game winning TD against LSU in 1998

Charlie Flowers 1959

Ole Miss-Alabama 1988, caused a brick to be thrown through Bill Curry's window. Our only win in T-Town

VH stadium against the defending National Champs Maryland in 1952, one of our all-time greatest wins

1960 Sugar Bowl. Ole Miss 21 LSU 0

1998 isn't 'Old SEC'

Neither are almost half of your photos. I'm only 30 so it's not like I'm old and being an arse. Maybe the arse part.

I haven't been to Oxford since the early 70's. I don't think I've ever seen the statue.

It is a very cool pose!

It was erected(giggity) two seasons ago. It's in front of the old field house just north of the stadium.

ETA: Come on up to Oxford this year. Just come with an open mind and not with an "impress me" attitude that most LSU fans have when they visit. I promise that you'll have a great time.

I know the sculptor very well. He's done a lot of famous Mississippians from Walter Peyton to Eudora Welty. He gave me the tour of his new studio a few months ago. He is even better with a pencil, no pun intended.
