lets watch the thing before jumping to this conclusion... the asshat brookes himself said only Reddick's story was believable... the same guy who was a complete douche while at Auburn and was turned down for a GA job about 8 months ago.
What reason does JR have to "protect" auburn.... he'd simply wouldn't say anything... the two guys were best friends while in college and were roommates.
I agree with you. The transcript looks bad but it'll be interesting to watch.
I do think Auburn paid the kids. The problem is I think everyone is paying the kids. The NCAA makes scapegoats not solutions. Why would you change a system that is generating billions of dollars. If the system were more fair, then the kids would be making legit money in college because they're generating loads of money for schools, tv, merchandise, etc. It's a business yet the NCAA plays the amateur athletics card. True amateurs don't generate billions of dollars at anything. It's dumb.

This is really big news here in Montgomery. Good luck Bama, win the NIT.

"Stanley signed in 2003 with me. His dorm room was next to mine at Sewell Hall. He had no car and and the only clothes he wore were some Auburn issued workout gear and some stuff from a senior bowl he played in. I saw him wear very little personal stuff. Note, his best friend was J. Rosegreen who has stated that he didn't get paid to play. If Stanley had recieved money, then he didn't spend it on anything anyone of us could see and someone who is dumb enough to take cash like that would blow it almost instantly on stupid, very obvious purchases.
As for the handshakes, we all pretty much walk the same path after the game, basically a reverse Tiger Walk. You pass by the basketball parking lot where the big money boosters park their RVs. I've never saw any of them walk up and do anything like a money handshake, and I've walked out with or behind about every player of note from 2003-2007 and never saw anything even remotely suspicious. Unless some of the random 8 year olds were slipping $100s in pockets I'm telling you it didn't happen.
Chaz has an axe to grind, anything he says different is a lie. I played with him and was rehabed by the same training staff that "ended" his career. I broke my ankle and was rehabbed back to 100% and we were both starters when we got injured (not at the same time though).
Troy at one point was majoring in the same thing that J. Palmer got his degree in, Wireless Engineering. So take that for what it's worth."
I don't have a problem with this statement but we all know these guys get handouts sometimes so why is Cole acting like it could never happen?
The fact is that some of these guys could have easily been paid and nobody would know.

I would think it would be difficult to find four different players that were bitter enough with a program that they've throw that porgram under the bus so easily.
Reddick's statements are the most damaging, IMO. He directly implicates an AU coach giving him money. And, damned if he didn't come right out and say that he didn't go to class, because he knew he was there to only play football.
I always hated Tubs, but I thought he ran a clean program while he was at AU. I guess we know why AU paid him $4mm to "voluntarily resign".

It's one mans word against another's. Or, in this case, four men are stating they got compensated by AU.

Sorry, I can't buy the "he's lying" defense.
If it was just one guy, maybe...But when multiple players come forward with basically the same story (pay for play), it certainly lends it some credibility IMO. Especially when you consider they're volunteering this info and not getting paid for it.

bought his car with pell grant money
Then he must have been saving his PG money for a couple of semesters. 7k is more than twice the average Pell payout.
And how would Rosegreen know where the money came from?

You guys are fricking idiots these guys are lying and its fricking obvious...Why? because NONE of these players are doing shite with their lives..I've witnessed Carnell Williams leave the Auburn football facility during his playing days at AU in a beat up 96' Z28 Camaro...There is no way in hell Raven Gray got payed he didnt do shite to get paid...As for Chaz Rasmey, he's hating because he missed out on a National Championship ring..Stanley Mcclover is flat out broke with no job and needs HBO's 20k to hit up the strip club and make it rain like the old days...I tell you what if HBO gets someone who played at Auburn and contributed with a nice paying job after his playing days; I'll believe it all day long..

this is exactly why they are squealing... its not the stars the program has to worry about, its the nobodies who didnt make it and have nothing to lose in the court of public opinion.

I'll ask the obvious question: If everyone is doing it as Auburn fans claim, why is it only former Auburn players coming forth claiming to having being paid in college?

That Tubby said it or that it's Chaz's dad's twitter?
I can't decide which i think is the lie. Although, I agree, that it's a lie.
