He'll, I'll give up the baseball program altogether if football and basketball are off the hook.
Tennessee: "We think it appropriate that in responding to these very serious allegations that we hereby end the baseball program at the University of Tennessee."
NCAA: "What? The baseball program wasn't even mentioned in--"
Tennessee: "We at the University recognize the need for good sportsmanship and ethical conduct both on and off the field. That is why we are taking this difficult step to demonstrate our sincerity to the NCAA."
NCAA: "Seriously, shouldn't you wait to respond to the allegations which don't even involve baseball?"
Tennessee: "No, no. This is a step which must be taken. I'm afraid there is no other way."

When the NCAA says something like this
That's when it "looks bad"
quote:
The NCAA Committee on Infractions called the University of Alabama a "serial repeat violator" with an "abysmal infractions track record" and an "extensive recent history of infractions cases unmatched by any other member institution in the NCAA," in responding to the school's textbook appeal, according to documents released today.

What did they do to stop it? The NCAA wants to know this and about 25 other things in their request for further information.

What do you speculate the sanctions will be then? Since you're all knowing and all, and have had your University go through all of this kind of thing recently and paid attention to how things work.
If anyone in this thread appears to believe that they are all knowing, it would be you.

You guys should get heavy sanctions for even hiring Kiffin.

Heard anymore from your source regarding the punishments the NCAA will be handing down on TN this week?

I don't think this is going to be that bad.
Hopefully Kiffin not being there neutralizes the football infractions.

I speculated what I thought. Yall are giving blanket, oh, nothing big is coming, we're in the clear. I'm just asking him, since he's a quality poster, to give his opinion on what nothing big, and in the clear is in relation to something we can all understand clearly.

Hunter knows all, as a fan of the one of the cheatingest programs in NCAA history. He's a master at predicting what the NCAA will and will not do.

I already said 3 yrs probation and around 9 scholly's in that time frame. I doubt I'm exact, but I think it'll be pretty close to that, over or under.

Oh.. Your arguments made it sound like you were expecting something much more serious.
I don't even think it will be that many scholarships, but even that's not that bad.

ahh.. deflection, rather than discuss your program that just received it's LOA. If it's not a big deal, then why not discuss it and give your opinion of what penalties your teams will face?

For basketball, it depends on how we handle the situation with Pearl, IMO. As far as football, we'll be playing with more scholarship players than we have been for a few years now, and I don't think NCAA penalties will keep Tennessee from being competitive, assuming Dooley can do the job.

For a first time offense, that's pretty hefty. I remember the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when Bama got 9 scholly reductions for their first back in the 90's.

Not nervous, just pointing out you know next to nothing in relation to this NCAA investigation, and your posting primarily consists of poor one liners and flames.

What did Bama get for the textbooks. I can't see it being much more than that, if it is that much.
