This entire episode is sad.
It's sickening this guy did what he did and the escalation with the threats on his family are horrible.
However, if you are stupid and do stupid things, you have to consider what the reaction will be to not only yourself but your family. He doesn't seem to be a master criminal and should have realized that is was likely he would get caught. With his actions, he has pulled his family into it. He should have understood the risks.

It's not that we hate trees being killed. This is one of our biggest traditions. If you cant see the difference between this tree and some random pine on the side of 85, you're an idiot.

It's not the fricking tree. It's the fact that they are part of a tradition that goes back to before you were born. There are AU alums and fans that rolled those trees in the 60's. There would be the same reaction if it was something else that was a part of Auburn, and was taken away.

Death threats? Thats not a reaction or a repercussion of what that idiot did. Its just dumbasses showing that they are no better than him and probably worse. Threats against kids? Really?
Well heres my stance on the tree thing as of now........TO all the barners who are truly hurt and offended in a rational way then im sorry that shite happened and I applaud your rationality and maturity, and i know yall are in the majority.
BUT to the jackasses who condone death threats and harm to him or his family........FRICK YOUR TREES AND GO EAT A DICK The ones in this category should really consider suicide because you are a waste of oxygen. Like i said in an earlier post. If somebody from this mans family shoots somebody, its gonna be completly justified.
"Fanhood" is a window to ones soul in the sense you can see how a person truly lives their life by how they react as a human being to the good and the bad things that a program endures.
But FOR REAL....im sure some of you losers who condone this shite on this board and anywhere else probably are already miserable seeing how you invest so much emotion into something like this instead of things like your family and friends and overall well being of those around you. What does surprise me is why did Updyke tell on himself on Finebaum? I'd like to thank him for his stupidity though. He made the investigation a no brainer, sparing our tax dollars. Thanks Harvey!
