News crews set up in front of Bryant Denny and I just saw a news truck roll by on Toomer's corner.

Recruiting championship or real championship? Hmmm, which to choose?

There were 6 news trucks downtown earlier when I came home from dinner.

i know about the label laws, but i doubt the max punishment includes jail time. unless youre making a bomb, but then you probably get hit with terrorism charges or some shite

People should really try and bury the hatchet a little bit because it doesn't take much to see that a vandalism war could be on the horizon.
This rivalry is getting out of hand.

It's Alabama. Would you expect anything less?

Hey Auburn fans...I'm sorry about your tree. Shitty fans are shitty.

AU fans have a golden opportunity to show that they are above this type of BS. What are the odds that they embrace that opportunity?

I just wish I could have an SEC Rant encounter with the guy so I could find a really funny "you mad" pic to post at him.

Holy shite. Where did that come from?

It seems like a lot of you guys need to just calm the frick down.
1. If you are mad at the Bama fan who did this how are you any better if you retaliate by destroying some of their property? Its not like they killed someone.
2. I understand the Oak trees are a very rich and important part of Auburn's history; so I do think if the guy gets caught they should throw the hammer at him. He used a highly controlled chemical to destroy state property and all in spite of a football game.
3. Bama fans who think this is funny are really still upset about the Iron Bowl and that we won the NC.

quote:I would guess both of them - as the Toomers Oaks are the two big trees that stand between the street and Main Gate. But I guess if someone went nuts they could have gone after more trees.
btw, how many trees were actually poisoned?
Reports I have read said that tests are being done to make sure the effects don't spread down Samford Park - which runs for a couple of blocks, from the corner of S. College and Magnolia south to in front of Samford Hall.

Somewhere in Birmingham, Bama and Auburn has already buried the hatchet.

I dont know, we have 3 or 4 of the former, 12 of the latter. We dont really have to choose.

I don't know how you'd go about getting an entire state to "tone it down" when both teams are so good and tensions are running high, but I know I'm not the only one noticing how the dynamic of the rivalry has taken a turn for the worse over the past year or so.

This is about as bad as it gets short of a person or an animal mascot being killed.
I sincerely hope that this redneck SOB is found, charged, fined, and does time. Plus, may he never be allowed to attend an SEC game again! I wish I could get my hands on him and go medieval on his arse!

So what do their actions at BDS (after winning a championship) say about them?
You mean the sticking of a temporary sticker on Bear Bryant's statue? Or the temporary taping of a jersey long enough to take a picture? Or using temporary grass seed to write out the score of the game on the Walk of Champions...?
