Petrino is gonna destroy the SEC Spurrier style if he goes to UF.

What if the Ole ball coach went back to Florida? I know deep down he wishes he never left.

According to mullen, he had not been contacted by florida as of 8:15 but that could be coaches speak for "my agent has been contacted by florida."

Had Mullen been high on the list, I think Meyer (since Dan once worked there) would have had a look/see with Dan just testing the waters. Foley at Florida can have those type conversations and in my opinion, he had his short list several days ago. Still think Gruden was at the top and that is why Mullen was "surprised". Y'all just have to live with my optimism!

A few of the Gators fans I know would love to see Spurrier end his career at Florida.

UF is not going to be in a hurry to hire a coach. You'll hear 50 different things in the next week.

I mean, with him being from Arkansas, it is a chance for Arky to lock down a guy long-term (assuming he is successful as an HC of course).. with that said, would they really do that? a guy who has no head coaching experience?
Personally, I'd rather he prove himself as a HC (and his ability to assemble a staff, as that seems to be his biggest potential knock) somewhere else before Petrino moves on. I hope I have that luxury.

We will have a new coach by mid week next week. Recruiting is huge and Foley knows this. Also, he has been in contact with other candidates via themselves or their agents. I think we will have a new coach by next Wed, with Fri being the latest. The new coach not only needs to save this class, but keep the last one intact as well with transfers.

I can't see Mullen jumping from Moo St. to Arky if Petrino leaves. While it is not a lateral move, I just don't think it's that big of step up to take at this time. Another winning year at MSU would set him up for an even better job.

Scary time to be a State fan. Mullen is awesome there, he should stay.
With all due respect to Miss. St., it is not a premier program nor is it a premier HC job. It's a stepping stone job, and Mullen has done his 2-yr. service time there and proved himself. He should NOT stay at Miss. St. if offered the UF job. And it pains me to say that b/c I have no doubt Miss. St. would go after Malzahn if Mullen left.
