You realize a big reason we didn't play in the Sugar in the 80s was that we spent a lot of time in the Cotton, which was the SWC Champs' bowl, right?
The BCS hasn't been around that long. It happened to coincide with BY FAR the best decade in LSU's history, arguably largely because of Nick Saban. In the 90s you guys were as mediocre as we were, and in the 60s, 70s, and 80s we were a very good football program.
We all realize Nick built a hell of a football program at LSU from 2000 until he left, and he left a lot of talent behind. We get that. A lot of SEC fans and quite a few LSU fans think Les Miles is another Coker. We'll see.
