I think another factor is that the Newtons weren't new to the recruitment process.

He wasn't a freshman, coming to recruitment new. They knew that asking for money was wrong.

Guys, I'm telling you...You are wrong.

If you solicit cash in the recruiting process, you are no longer an amateur. You are ineligible.

Period. Wherever you're getting your facts from, they are wrong. Obviously, it will be a lot worse for Auburn if payment was indeed made, but nonetheless "solicitation of cash" in not legal under NCAA rules as you claim. You could not be further from the truth, when the opposite of what you are saying is the truth.
