I think Alabama's defense, with the emphasis on the linebackers, is going to be a difference in stopping Cam that LSU lacked. We held Auburn to 24 at home, regardless of the total yardage gained. And I have no doubt that Saban will be able to effectively scheme and keep their offense below 30 as well. Further, Alabama's offense is ten times more efficient and better than LSU's. Auburn, despite what they looked like against our poor offense, won't be near as successful against Alabama.

I will root for Auburn, but everything points to Bama by 17 in my book.

Our 3-4 defense will have more success for sure.

You don't know much about the history of this series, if you think a 17 point win is a slam dunk. Games like 2008, when Alabama won 36-0, are very rare.

It was the blocking that allowed the run game to be as successful as it was yesterday more than the lack of execution tackling.

This.

Winner of the Iron Bowl wins by no more than 7 points.

Beat Auburn? Possibly. Easily?: Only if Newton gets hurt or goes stupid and fumbles the ball a few times or throws a few interception. That or if Les Miles' Ghost takes over AU's Offense and does retarded things.

Yeah, but I really think Auburn's defense will be exposed by a team that can control the TOP, which Alabama will be able to do. LSU only lost TOP by 5 minutes and AU rushed for over 400 yards. That's quite amazing. I simply don't see AU having the same success they were able to have against us. I don't think that Alabama's defense is as good as LSU's (just based on Bama's youth IMO), but I certainly think that the scheme is going to be more effective against AU's style.

Alabama is going to make Newton throw. He is not going to get 28 carries against our front 7.

I literally lol'd at this.

But it's good to know you guys have faith... just as every other defense had prior to playing the Cam-beast.

I didn't think we would stop him. If you would have promised me Auburn would only score 24 and only have a 5 minute TOP advantage, I would have taken that in a heartbeat. I still can't figure out how you run the ball 52 times for over 400 yards and it gets you a 32 minute TOP. Auburn will lose to Bama.

Let the Barners win. Cam and Gus will be gone soon enough. They'll be back to their lil' brother status. Let 'em cash and be the SEC's next natty champ. Here's hoping they get their day in the sun.

I think Aub-Ala will be a 6 pt gm or less..either way.

Auburn had 31 points they just did the classy thing and did not run up the score at the end. No way we stop them if they choose to get another score at the end.

I would feel more confident about Bama's D if Cody was still manning the nose.

That was a big loss, no offense to Josh Chapman, but he's not in Cody's league as a NG...

I'm rooting for Auburn. I just don't see them winning this game.

I disagree, TA; this one has "BARN-BURNER" written all over it.

The same circumstances forced LSU to go for it on 4th down deep inside AU territory. Auburn didn't have 31 despite what you think would have happened.

I expected LSU's D to give him fits, but I was not expecting them to allow Cam to set the all-time single season rushing record by an SEC player.

And Alabama's defense pales in comparison to LSU's.

The only way Alabama beats Auburn is if they consistently turn the ball over... either that or Cam literally doesn't show up for the game. Other than that, it's going to be an embarrassingly nightmarish day for our defense.

They have a chance. Hell, Bama was by far the best team in the country last year. Much better than this year's Tide. LSU had 'em beat at T-Town for all but the final 6 minutes..Aub had 'em beat for all but the last two minutes.

I'd like Ala or Aub's chances vs Oreg, Boise, TCU, Ok, OSU, Wisc,etc..though both have more fleas than the recent SEC BCSCG winners.
