about where to go / what to do this weekend.

A few friends (UpstateCock2007) and I are heading down this Friday and staying thru Sunday, arriving sometime before dinner. We are staying at the Days Inn across from campus on College. What are some good places to eat/drink? Tailgating spots, any ideas? Give me a good experience.

We've been told to set up shop on campus somewhere the night before, and walk to our tailgate Saturday morning. Any truth to that? Thanks for the advice, and good luck Saturday.

Looking for a nice meal or what? You're easy walking distance from downtown which is small and compact but will have everything you could need or want. Plenty of places to eat/drink. Your hotel is a little sketchy but if I was staying anywhere that would be it because of location.

Absolutely. I've been out of college for a couple years and am usually too waxed from tailgating all day to do the bars after the game so I can't offer much there. As for spots.
Since you'll be walking from days in you might want to try something behind the Life science building or Funchess just to save you a long trip walking around with a lot of stuff.

You are three blocks from Toomers Corner. There are not a ton but there are rest. and bars that you can hit up all along that intersection.

Oyster Bar for food and drinks, Supper Club for live music/girls/cold beer after the game. Downtown AU, Quixotes for drinks, Skybar for drinks. Expect Long lines, Cover charges...

If you can get there when its not too crowded, check out Balcony Bar above skybar. Cool spot, great view. Game weekends do tend to pack out downtown though so expect a line wherever you go

Doesn't have to be a nice restaurant, just something fun with a good crowd.

For tailgating I recommend the amphitheater. Kind of a long walk but worth it. You have to save a spot early, though.

That is the stuff right across from your hotel. You're also right across from the library which has a good bit of tailgating space on that side.

We went to a place called Bodega's (sp?) last time I was there and snuck in under age. Had probably one of the best times I've had at a bar on a road trip. Is that place still there? And do I remember it being near Toomer's Corner?

Thanks guys

How early should we set up shop out there? Do we need to worry about our stuff getting stolen/damaged if we leave it out there overnight? We should arrive in Auburn around dinner time or just before, depending on traffic in ATL.

Yes. But i believe it's called the vault now. Help me out current students, or recent grads.

You were probably the one who wouldn't let me in so I snuck around the back.

Put up the tent...nothing more. That is what we do.

PPL in Au for the most part respect tailgate lines.

Just find a good spot of grass directly across from the hotel to tailgate. You can set up after 4 on Friday, or get some flagging tape and rope off a spot. Just head towards Toomers for the bars and the restaurants. Mellow Mushroom has a good beer selection. The Supper Club is a must for after midnight fun, and the bus will bring you back to the hotel. We look forward to having y'all here. I am sure you will have a good time.

supper club doesn't serve food... it's a bar out close to the interstate that stays open till 4am... it's where you go after the downtown bars close at 2.

friday night is probably gonna be very crowded... get there early. Personally, I live Bourbon St (next door to bodega's, or whatever it's called now).... nice deck upstairs with a couple bars, good music downstairs.
