I don't know I always had fun, I tailgated and went to every Ga Southern game while in school. I never had a problem and I was never miserable.
I mean I love both LSU and Ga Southern, guess it helps that one is 1-A and the other is 1-AA.

To say it had nothing to do with it would be a lie, but it certainly wasn't my main priority.

Well that's a lot different than watching your friends tailgate and go to an SEC game while you watch your team from home on TV by yourself.

I guess you were still shitting in your diaper when you were three, cause i wasn't. I'm sorry you look like a fricking idiot for starting a thread saying you should all of a sudden change your lifelong team to the team you attend college for. Which makes no fricking sense and is absolutely retarded.

I can't understand why somebody WOULD change their favorite team just because they went to another University. How big a fan could you have been if you can just drop it like that?? I was an Alabama fan as soon as I had a concept of what football was. I was raised on it and some of my favorite memories revolved around Bama games with my Dad...I'm supposed to just drop that and become a "fan" of somebody else?
That sounds like the crap that girls do when they date a guy who pulls for a different program...they just drop it and become fans of whatever he likes. Weak.

I will say this much, the BIG Bama and Ole Miss fans who were students at State always caught hell when people found out they didnt pull for Mississippi State athletics.
I think that if you go to school at a college or University you should support your school. You can still be a fan of other schools (a friend of mine is a diehard UK basketball fan but is also a diehard State fan in all sports) . If the college provides you with a degree that helps you earn you living then the least you can do is pull for them in sports and brag about them when they are doing good.

multiple people have agreed with me. it's not like you ever experienced this at Cooter's Community College or anything.

I find this strange too. I went to Auburn and graduated with a bunch of Alabama fans. Never understood it....
You wouldn't cheer for a high school team you didn't attend. Why cheer for a college you didn't attend? Doesn't make sense..... Now if you didn't go to college at all, then I guess you're free to cheer for whoever you want!

The frick is that? It's not like you've even been to college.

I'm way too much of a fan of Bama to just switch schools that fast. I may frick around on here, but there's just no way I'd change my fanhood soley based on the fact that I went to a diff school.

It doesn't make you any less of a fan, frick how can you be a bandwagoner by going from Bama to State? LSU to OM? I just think it's severely limiting to go to a school and then root for whatever team you followed back at home. That's all.

I might root for the team who's university i go to a little bit and want them to do well i guess, but i won't change my team. That's stupid.

Actually I cheered against my high school in a few games. I was really close with my head football coach and the high school I gradauted from fired him right after my junior year.
He wound up being a head coach at a new high school and was put in the same region. I cheered for my old coach instead of the high school that fired him.

I talked with a former Tiger from the Saban era that roots for Bama.

I went to highschool games just because of the social aspect of it. I didn't care if we won or lost.

I'm telling you allegiance to a coach can be a strong thing to break.
I even still talk to my old head coach and I haven't played a down for him in 11 years.

I didnt GO to high school games, I PLAYED in them.
And like the other poster said, I have pulled for high schools other than where I graduated from. My brother is a coach and I pull for his team, and also pull for a buddy of mine's hs team he coaches.

I played in them for 2 years, but I tore my ACL. I know, pretty ironic. Anyway, I wasn't that good so it's cool.

I know my brother in law is a football and basketball coach at another high school, I go to his games and pull for them, also my father in law was a high school football coach.
