Miles = Nutt, in different ways.

Nutt is a motivator, not a good X-and-O coach. Yep, he does more with less talent... sometimes. Then there are times he does less with more talent. He's inconsistent at best, and surprises you a lot of times, both good and bad. Nutt is not a good recruiter.

Miles is a good recruiter, and can sometimes motivate. I don't think Miles has the presence on the sidelines like most other SEC coaches. And I'm not going to go into detail with Miles' coaching.

And both Nutt and Miles can't interview worth anything.

If I had my choice I'd take neither of these coaches.

I expect Nutt will continue to have mediocre seasons and then one of his trademark good years from outta nowhere.

which he will use to jump ship somewhere else.

I'm not fan of Nutt but as long as he puts together winning seasons and doesn't completely suck it up he'll be around a while. He has a large amount of unused talent at OM right now that will carry over for a couple more years after that you'll see OM slip some then you'll see the pressure crank up.

Considering 3 out 5 of the other western coaches currently have a losing record against him, and he's won more games the last two years than 9 out the other 11 coaches in the SEC, this might be premature.

Miles's record against Nutt: 2-3
Chizik's record against Nutt: 0-1
Petrino's record against Nutt: 0-2

HEad coaching record's of the SEC the last 2 years

1) Nick Saban: 26-2
1) Urban Meyer: 26-2
2) Houston Nutt: 18-8
3) Mark Richt: 17-9
3) Les Miles: 17-9
4) Rich Brooks: 14-12 (Joker Phillips 0-0)
4) Steve Spurrier: 14-12
5) Bobby Petrino 13-12
6) Derek Dooley 12-13
7) Gene Chizik: 10-15
8) Bobby Johnson: 9-16
9) Dan Mullen 5-7

Funny your program went undefeated and still didn't make it to the NC. Please don't try to compare the LSU program to Auburns.

lsu and auburn are as close as they come to similar programs. under the same circumstances, yall would have been left out too.

Maybe that could have been said 7 years ago but we have 3 SEC titles and 2 NCs in the last 6 years. Sorry man but LSU has significantly passed AU for now. And I agree LSU would have been left out in 04 as well.

No, Chizik, Les Miles and Bobby Petrino. Statistics don't suck. They are what they are. You can say they are meaningless, but they do not 'suck' in and of themselves. You say all the other programs in the west are on their way up. That's simply not true at all. LSU is certainly not on its way "up." Mississippi St. built its reputation last year on beating Ole Miss head up and a close loss to LSU. Dan Mullen won his rivalry game, but has yet to prove in recruiting that he is better than Nutt. Chizik recruited better, but has yet to prove on the field he can beat Nutt. Miles, with far greater talent than Nutt, has a losing record against him, and only Saban and Meyer have better records the last 2 years. Ole Miss has been the third best program in the SEC the last 2 years. When have they been able to say that since John Vaught was thier coach? I agree that Nutt is not the best coach in the SEC, but until other coaches are able to beat him on a regular basis, its premature to speculate on his departure.

Personalities and morals aside...

I'd rather have Nutt as a coach than Miles.
