Question for the Bammer fans....

If you guys don't win the title this year, is the season considered a failure?

I think you have a Great defense (reminds me of LSU 03) and your offense is so-so. You are benefiting from a weak schedule, both in 08 and 09. No Florida in the regular season, AUburn is down, TN is down, LSU has played with 18 yr old QB's. If you get past LSU its an easy walk to Atlanta. Get past Tebow this year? Tebow Christ is a senior and may not be denied...if they get their offense rolling...if.

TBH i just like being competitive in the SEC again. Going through Franchoine, Debose, and Shula has gotten me alot more level headed. All i can hope for is getting to the SECCG and giving our best shot at Florida.

If we play well and get beat by a better team, it won't bother me, nor will I consider it a failure.

But if we play like crap like we did last night with the penalties and such, it will bother me.

No. Anytime you play in the SECCG the season is not a failure.

Don't be ignorant "slim", and no. With an 18 or 19 yr old QB we didn't expect to win the SEC. Nearly impossible. But your avoidance of my question shows your fear. And with a QB we would be the favorites this year.

Is this where I bump about 30 threads about how JJ is gonna be the best QB in the west this season because he looked good against Ga Tech.. and another 30 threads about how dominant your offense was gonna be this year and how yall would be in Atlanta, no questions asked ?

Good honest answer that I can respect.

It's all cyclicle....I think LSU fans feel the same, we have 2 titles the last 6 years, it's all you can ask for is to be competitive and be a top ten team. To expect to be #1 every year is unrealistic.

Very few LSU fans felt this way. You can't judge a QB from 1 game that he got a month to prepare for. Don't hijack the thread jack.

We have more talent in the WR and RB and TE position than most if not all teams in the county but poor line play and an inexperienced QB have made for problematic offense. Should be an easy win for the Alabama defense. A loss to LSU would surely be a disappointment for this Bama team.

wasn't a hijack, but there was more than just a few fans saying this.

Stupid question. As a BAMA fan I want the SEC title before I even think of a National title

Wrong.

The majority of Alabama fans I come across on a daily basis forget that they have been irrelevant for the last 15 years. You'd think they'd understand and be happy for the team they have and be respectful fans. Instead the fans I speak with are the most cocky and arrogant and self entitled fans I ever met. Its not even fun to talk football with them. They act like they should have been ranked #1 for weeks now and aren't happy with taking it week to week. It's obnoxious is all I'm saying. Which I was why I started the topic. Wondering if all Bama fans felt it was title or failure.

We seem to have really nice and level headed fans on gameday IMO. I've always thought this.

I was always of the belief that we had no idea what Jefferson was going to do this season. He had a very good 1st half against GT, but was horrible in the 2nd. He was the same way in his other two games last year.

For those that weren't extremely negative or positive, I'd say that 9-3 or 10-2 would be a positive step. If we do end up 10-2 and win the Capitol One Bowl, I'll feel good about what we accomplished this season.

No. If we fail to win one in the next couple years I would.

With this statement.. you admit you started this thread as a flame. What's more arrogant? A fanbase relishing in the success they are having now or a fanbase attempting to degrade a fanbase while their team is in an obvious teetering situation. Your team is coming off a horrible season and still is underperforming at an unbelievable rate given the talent you have. Yet, you want to ignore that and deflect and try to call another fanbase arrogant. Your program has done NOTHING that Bama hasn't done before in it's history, in fact.. your program hasn't even achieved what Bama has done in its history, so take your high and mighty attitude about being relevant until you've achieved success to the level that Bama has. Or at least matching what Bama is doing right now. Btw.. have a nice evening.

Jay Barker did it, so does y'alls QB suck or is it y'alls shitty coaching of the QB that is the problem. I will get to your oringianl post in a minute but I just would like to hear an naswer to this.

No. It is great to be competitive again and we are still building depth although that process is almost complete.

Our defense reminds me more of our defense in '92 than LSU '03.

Our offense is not so-so there ranked #21 nationally and y'all are ranked #112. Our defense is #1 and y'all are #35 which is 16 places behind the South Carolina team we played last night.

quote:

You are benefiting from a weak schedule, both in 08 and 09.

We are use to that because traditionally our schedule has always been week. Y'all became relevant in 2000 and until then had not made a ripple since 1958. We went unbeaten in death valley for 31 years. Y'all made up part of our weak schedule for over a half a century.

We were down for the last 10 years due to the NCAA (and our cheating of course becasue we are the only team that does that) so maybey that is why y'all have even been worth a shite. Who knows!!

It just looks to me like things are going back to the way they have always been.

Roll Tide!!
