This game has been circled by both fanbases since last year, and today is the day it begins..

Good luck this weekend Aggies.

I know that all of you are pissed that Schloss left, but I have even seen some go as far to say that he intentionally lost the CWS last year since he knew he was leaving for Texas.. This is complete bologna imo.. If he had 10 rings, maybe I'd listen, but the dude has 0 rings.. there is no way he lost that series with TN on purpose, and I'm not even sure a coach could pull that off if he tried..

Anyways.. I do have some questions for the Aggies.

Are you pissed because he left or are you pissed because of the way he left right after the CWS? I truly don't understand why someone would be pissed about the latter..

Did you want him to step down in April when he accepted the position at Texas? You guys had a legit chance at a title and that would have been far worse for your chances to win it all.

In your opinion, how could he have handled it differently where it would have been considered acceptable? I know you'd be pissed either way, but some of the hate is crazy that I have seen..

++++++++

Now it's time to get pumped up.. so I'll leave you with this, which is up there with Enter Sandman at VT imo.. run through walls type stuff..

Y’all should be as pissed at him as the Aggies. Y’all could have had him for millions less, years earlier. He and his agent used the Aggies to hold you up for huge money.

Not pissed so much, wish that he wouldn't have been asked about the Texas job in an interview following the loss. He didn't do anything wrong, coaches change teams all the time. I look forward to the series.

I don't think he intentionally tanked the cws. That's just silly that anyone would actually think that.
I do think it's fair to suggest it was a massive distraction for him if he had already agreed to take the job before that series. That may not have been the case (they did win game 1) but we'll never know for sure. I know we would have been just as pissed if he'd done it to us under the same circumstances so I understand the anger from their side.

I'm just glad he's in Austin now.

He paid his own buyout, not sure how this is some gotcha moment.

so we should be mad we didn't hire him when we didn't have an opening? I'm not sure I follow the logic here.

He's a great coach but the things we found out after abiut the person from players, player families, and other sources....

You wont believe it, but I think most Aggies are happy he's not leading this program. Earley just MAY be the coach we thought he was, and he is a FANTASTIC human being by all accounts.

We're very happy with the way this turned out. I think that is the feeling of 98% of our baseball fans.

That's not how that went down.... When Augie Garrido retired Schlossnage was angling to be Augie's replacement. Garrido was a bit of a mentor/hero to Schloss and Augie went scorched earth policy on Steve Patterson and how horrible he was so Schloss stayed in Fort Worth. Texas hired Pierce then as lady luck would have it we hired CDC but CDC couldn't just pull the plug on Pierce. Pierce showed signs of life early but some piss poor decisions cost him against MSU in 2021 but he still made the final four in 2021. At that point Schloss had spent 5 seasons in Ft Worth past when CDC left and he was going to jump on the next big job which was A&M.

Yes hindsight being 20/20 Augie should have recommended Schloss knowing he would easily outlive Steve Patterson's incompetence but sadly that did not happen.

The laundry is always more dirty when someone knows where the bodies are buried.. Idk all that has been said, but like anything else in this life, the truth usually lies in the middle.. Some of it is probably true.. some of it is greatly exaggerated.. and some of it might be complete bullshite..

I believe that is true today.. it definitely was NOT true a month ago though.. y'all had the pitchforks out and rightfully so..

It will be interesting to see how our pitching holds up against your hot bats this weekend.. Hopefully we can score enough for it to make a difference.. I do wonder if Texas has a slight edge with Schloss, Max & Cain having a little insight into each player and their strength's and weaknesses, both hitting and pitching.. Perhaps a pitcher tipping his pitches.. a batter struggles against ____.. etc

He’s an excellent baseball coach.

He lacks integrity as a person.

He didn’t care about the A&M program long term. And that’s fine. But it’s more of a slap in the face due to him just being a fake.

Bad take, but I don't have time (or energy) to lecture.

And tRant doesn't have time (or energy) to read anyway.

Agreed. Texas probably does have the edge as far as coaching/ knowledge of the opposition.

But Earley can’t control that, at the end of the day the players have to execute.

Was time to get over it and move on right after the move was announced. Timing of the leak was bad but not his fault it leaked. I never complain if someone moves on for whatever reason. Apparently he had some issues with AD and promises not kept. Understandable to be perfectly frank. It’s over now.

Ready for the weekend series.

The CWS thing was a little ratty, to be honest, but the bigger issue was him essentially lying when someone asked him about leaving A&M for Texas.

I was also pissed that a really good baseball coach went to Texas lol.

Good luck to the ‘Horns this series! It’s gonna be a fun one.

I guess it's a good thing we don't have to be all that concerned about money.

There’s a difference between not being all that concerned about money and costing yourself millions of dollars…

All I'm really interested in is whether or not we can keep the momentum of the last 3 weeks going because, as much as we want to win this rivalry series, what we are mostly going to remember from this season is how it finishes, and where it finishes.

Short version - Schloss is paid what the market will pay him. No matter where he's been, and no matter where he's at.

Texas goal is not only to hire him, but to keep him. At best, he cost us a little extra for just one season - this season. His worth is what it is going forward.
