Is it just because of TexAgs?

Having the number one college sports website in the country does definitely detract from other forums
But it’s also not football season

I don’t get it? It’s a statistical fact. Paid subscribers , clicks/ users it is just analytics

Awesome! But where’s the evidence?
I just don’t want to take comfort in something that might not be true, t’know?

I’ve wondered the same thing. Even during football season there’s not much convo going on here

Orange bloods posted a bunch of stats a couple years ago, They were all upset that they weren’t even ranked in the top two, I don’t feel particularly motivated, but I might use the Google machine to try and find it for you at some point

All the OGs who came over when we moved to the SEC are too old to post now

There’s a lot of people who used to post a lot that I haven’t seen on here in a min. Anyone know what happened to Farmer?

Because all things Texas A&M are currently being covered on the Rant, courtesy of the Longhorn faithful.

In all seriousness, though…this is the first non-pinned thread that’s been made here in months.

Wasn’t farmer banned at some point? I know TBird is off making little TBirds, Lobot only comes around when he wants to be especially negative about our program, and the rest either got banned or just want to troll on TRant.

And who was the other gentleman that was super active for awhile Aggies something was his username. Haven’t seen him in here in a good bit

Great question. Football would be the main reason. But it seems like everyone’s just getting older..

I can’t remember why he was banned. It was a couple years ago, but I do remember we had a campaign to bring him back.
Also, it could have been Sarge who got banned and I’m just misremembering who it was.

Farmer is the gentleman that makes most of our in season threads. He made the baseball thread for us. No it wasn’t Colorado, tomorrow I’ll scroll and see if I can remember the guys name
I know Lobo is gone

Two fundamental reasons.
1) Sarge is right that TexAgs is pretty much the biggest college message board site in the country. They’ve even licensed out their forum code and you can find it on several other sites now too (it’s under F5 Sports Media LLC). So this board is always gonna live in TexAgs’s shadow.
2) Studies have shown the younger generations don’t use message boards as much, it’s more of a millennials and older generations thing. They’d rather spend time on social media. So you don’t have as many new potential users signing up, all the established people just stay where they’re at (likely TexAgs).
Beyond that, this is a primarily sports website and let’s look at the three big men’s sports for A&M this past year. Football collapses after a 7-1 start and loses a crappy bowl game. Basketball had a good main season but fizzled out quickly in March madness and had the coach leave. Baseball had a historic plummet from #1 spot pretty much from the start of the season…. What is there to talk about that’s fun or at least interesting right now?
Finally speaking for myself, as I’ve gotten older I’ve found that sports just don’t get as much of my attention any more. I’m more focused on family and career right now. Sure I’d be excited if the Ags won a football natty, but you know what, I’d go right back to work the next day and it wouldn’t change my life one bit. Realizing that has made me care less about who does what on any sports field. Well, that and all this NIL/Portal BS.
