Not playing this weekend for sure, but even worse....word on the Texas side is that he may be done for the year. He came out of the game early vs Auburn as the staff noticed his fastball dipping to 91. Still getting scans done and no official word on his condition, but this is what is currently being said by some Texas insiders. Would be a huge blow to the Tx pitching staff if true.

Is he the best SP? (I assume so since he’s on Fridays)…What are his season stats?

Sucks. Hate to hear that. Hopefully a speedy recovery is in his future

Yep hearing season here’s sucks to lose an all American and now arguably our best pitcher. Hope the young staff is ready for action

There ain't nothing official from the horses mouth yet. Yall just pulling this crap from surly and other message boards like OB.

Might just mean you have to go to Volantis earlier in the game on a Friday or Saturday rather than a late game close out. Should be fine for winning 2/3 in your remaining weekends, but will definitely hinder your sweep opportunities.

This.
Until I hear anything official, rumors like this go in one ear and out the other.

I'm not convinced he's done for the season. If there was something wrong structurally, it would've been obvious at this point. He's going to be out for a while regardless, but I am holding out hope we get him back at some point.
Also, where the hell is Ace Whitehead?

Grubbs is probably starting Friday and Riojas on Saturday. Idk who is gonna start with them this weekend.

He had surgery during the offseason.

Feel like at LSU every time a guy is out for a while and we’re not sure if he’s returning, he’s eventually announced out for the year.
Hope this kid heals up!

I don't think Schloss does that. Grubbs is too valuable eating up middle innings so I doubt he goes to a starting role. More likely Harrison and Riojas move up one day and let Sunday go to the new starter. May take a few weeks to see who that will be. If in fact he is out....I am still holding out a glimmer of hope that he just needs a couple of weeks rest.

Injuries suck. Here’s to a quick and full recovery.

Whether he’s out for the season or he’s out for a few weeks, it’s next man up. Will be interesting to see how our coaches tinker with it but with over 15 SEC wins already I think we have given ourselves a weekend or two to work out the kinks. Sucks to have two of our biggest SEC weekends going on during this time, would have been nice to see Missouri this week while Schloss and Max figure this out but someone will answer the call.
I’m ready to see Jonah Williams play more. He’s going to be fun to watch if he stays healthy the next 2+ years

Not apples to apples,
But when A&M fans talked about missing an all-American 3B and another top pitcher in Sdao, we were told lots of teams go through injuries.
Bottom line, you cannot replace all Americans or your best pitcher. You plug and play and hope for the best.
I hope your pitcher has a speedy recovery. This final stretch will be brutal.

Agree and disagree,
It’s not fun to and it’s hard to adjust but good teams adjust, that’s why you are starting to see some success because yall are adjusting to not have Gavin.
I think we’ve definitely adjusted decently well without Max Belyeu, other players like Jonah Williams getting time they may not have gotten with Max healthy so it’s opened doors for us and yall with George and Royo(maybe mispelled) getting time on the infield and Binderup coming around with Kash out.
It’s taken some time but A&M seems to be hitting on all cylinders offensively. Now you just need to get your starting pitching back on track because they were lights out earlier than in the year. Make it to the postseason and anything can happen.
I will feel sorry for any team that has to play you in their regional/super and that includes the Horns.

I think both can be true. Every team does have injuries and every teams mentality should be next man up.
However, is you lose a top pitcher and All-American from any team and you will hurt your team some (Texas and ATM share this right now)
Hope we both can be as healthy as possible this weekend and in the post season.
