In the first 25 editions, the game has drawn an average of 4,887 fans per game. The Mayor's Trophy series ended after the 2006 match-up and was replaced by The Governor's Cup.

For whatever reason since 2022 Texas State is 5-0 vs Texas in Austin or neutral sites and 0-3 in San Marcos.
Hopefully we keep the latter trend going but it is definitely bizarro land because once upon a time we went 24 straight against them of course Garrido was our coach back then and he was a bit of a hard arse ;-)

Texas next weekend in Fayettenam is the one that is likely to get ugly and LSU @ Listeria Field is a pretty good follow on.
