5 star David Stone just hit the portal out of the blue

Never heard a peep of this happening … good thing for OU is he can’t transfer to any sec team . He was OUs most improved DL player in the spring . We do have an elite freshman Trent Wilson to fill some gap. Stone wasn’t going to start but he did see snaps last year and was expected to be a big piece of the defense . This is the new college football get elite players lose elite smh. His parents more than likely was in his ear about money being spent on transfers that OU just recently got. They have always been an issue. He almost chose Miami because of money and last second came to OU.

Many 5 stars only plan to be in college for three years. If he wasn’t going to start as a sophomore, I’m not surprised he would transfer.

He was 4th in his spot, and likely wants playing time elsewhere. He was not gonna get it this year. Hurts more for years afterwards but BV is all in on this year to right the ship. And money saved can be used to replace him next year.
Losing David Stone hurts OU in the depth at the DT position, but Oklahoma is also deep on that side of the ball.

So basically he was giving money to all his relatives and they kept asking for more… so of course now he wants more and OU isn’t paying a backup starting pay . Parents have been a. Issue since day 1. He’s making a boatload to begin with . He’s got to many people trying to run his life . This is the bad side of NIL. Parents sucking their kids dry.

What’s the difference when they chose the portal now vs. when they flip 4 times the week of signing day because of under the table money? Nothing. He just flipped. That’s all. You guys you use to love to come on this board and talk about how your team flipped a stud recruit from school X to your team. This player just flipped himself. Nothing wrong with it.

"Out of the blue" shouldn't be used anymore. No team and no position is immune at any time.
