His family is just trying to save face. His people played Russian Roulette with the NIL and lost. Now they're having to lie to save face. We all know what's going on here.

That offense has a well-documented record of failing to prepare players for the NFL.

I expected them to use the excuse of Nico wanting to be closer to home.

That makes more sense.

It's a reasonable point - the offense does not translate to the NFL nor does it prepare QBs at all for how they will have to read defenses and run an offense in the NFL. That's been brought up a ton in draft discussions with Hooker and other guys who run variations of it. Doesn't mean it's a bad offense or shouldn't be run, but it's a clear downside.

On the flip side, they signed up for that offense knowing full well what it was and how it translated. The idea that it just became a problem going into year 3 is clearly an excuse.

And the UCLA offense prepares kids for the NFL? LOL! The kid and his family rolled the dice and came up snake eyes. They took about the only reasonable offer they could get, and that was UCLA. It had nothing to do with the type of offense. If you believe that you're about as dumb as they are for doing what they did.

This is accurate. None of Baylor's players made it in the NFL when they were running it years ago. QBs couldn't read a defense or go through progressions. Didn't know what an under front or a Mike was. WRs couldn't execute most of the route tree and were way behind their peers. RBs couldn't operate effectively if the box wasn't light etc.,

His new OC has never been an OC but he was on Jeremy Pruitt’s staff at Tennessee so I’m sure it will be fine

It’s funny they are saying the Vol offense was the problem. The offense of the team he is going to play for this season averaged only 18.4 PPG last year and only scored more than 30 once.
