Maybe the dumbest thing ever posted on al.commie...which is saying something. We really deserve better sports journalism in this state.

Is President Trump Killing Alabama Football

Some day, everyone will learn that you're buying nice houses for all these shock jock type writers and media people. They write this stuff specifically to get you riled up and clicking and sharing, and every click makes them more ad revenue. Not surprised someone who uses "libtard" is one of the duped sheep. This type of article/video is a mainstay in politics.

He’s not a journalist. He’s an anti Alabama activist. His columns should never be shared on Alabama websites.

If anything Trump is HELPING Alabama football. The market is crashing and we’re headed for a major recession which will cause Yellafella and Tim Apple(and big time boosters at all schools) to lose a shite ton of money and the first thing they’ll stop spending money on is 18 year old football players to go to their college. NIL playing field will be more even.

I still have friends from Birmingham on social media who are leftists. So, Al.bomb has its share of diehard supporters. However, if 1819 News had semi-decent sports coverage of UA, UAB, Sanford and Au the other paper would nearly be unable to survive. They pull a lot of readership with coverage of college sports. But, yeah, I ain’t clicking on an AL.dumb link. Especially not Goodman.

Congrats on timing the dead cat bounce.

I’m not even being political here. I’m truly not trying to get into a poliboard pissing match. Just since the post is here on the board, realistically we are headed in the direction of a recession and the S&P 500 is still down over 10% year to date even after yesterday’s run. We can look at how those facts will trickle down to college athletics. For example, Dave Portnoy has said he lost about 20% of his net worth. He’s probably more worried about that than fundraising for Michigan football.

Meh.

We'll be fine.

Bill Clinton was praised for his "great" economy and it was nothing compared to today's.

Knocking China down a peg or two is worth my 401K taking a dip. I'm not touching it for another 20 years anyway.

I agree with you on a few of those points. Legit just think it is interesting short term to see how this affects NIL. Theres just less money RIGHT NOW to spend on frivolous bullshite.

I guess you forgot the insane inflation that started in 2022 under the previous regime. Having to pay $5 for a gallon of regular gasoline. Not to mention the other ridiculous BS that they were up to. Selective memory and such.

I’m still trying to understand why the OP linked the article. He knows that JG is a biased hack. Maybe he did it purposely.

Not sure how losing a trade war with China knocks them down a peg or two but ok.

We've been losing a trade war with them for decades.

We're finally doing something about it and people are shitting their pants.

ETA:

But we're "losing."

heres the thing, the stock market doesn't accurately reflect the health of our economy. In fact, it's one of the biggest problems, imo. Companies are chasing eternal quarterly growth. This has guttered wages and product quality. The damage is immeasurable, imo.

Business ethics courses actually teach that management's responsibilities are to shareholders needs first.

Stock market is slowly bleeding this country dry.
