SEC basketball coaches: Total pay
(Vanderbilt's coaching salaries are not public record since it is a private university.)
Arkansas coach John Calipari: $8,000,000
Auburn coach Bruce Pearl: $5,958,852
Tennessee coach Rick Barnes: $5,800,000
Alabama coach Nate Oats: $5,018,045
Ole Miss coach Chris Beard: $5,000,000
Kentucky coach Mark Pope: $5,000,000
Texas A&M coach Buzz Williams: $4,600,000
Mississippi State coach Chris Jans: $4,200,000
Missouri coach Dennis Gates: $4,100,000
South Carolina coach Lamont Paris: $3,750,000
Georgia coach Mike White: $3,610,000
Florida coach Todd Golden: $3,600,000
Oklahoma coach Porter Moser: $3,200,000
Texas coach Rodney Terry: $3,001,500
LSU coach Matt McMahon: $2,805,000
This is from a couple of weeks ago, so there has been some coaching movement and I expect some raises for some as well.

We're the only school that pays their basketball coach more than the football coach.

Like, don’t get me wrong, Cal is a good coach and you could argue he should be the highest paid coach in the SEC. But $8 million seems excessive

I think lots of coaches get bonus ir other related salary that is not included in this

He took a pay cut to come to Arkansas. Was making 8.5 at UK.
In hindsight, he may not be worth it, but it probably is fair market value.
