We tried to tell you Mainieri’s best days were behind him. Are Cock fans regretting the hire yet?

I’m not sure any of us were that excited by the hire. Ray Tanner made it so anyone with a brain knew it would be bad

Petry has two extra base hits in sec play
#1 he has no protection so that’s on recruiting

It’s not even the good part yet for them. He will stop recruiting not bother to do any homework on who his assistants recruit and they will have no left handed pitching soon.

What drove me nuts with him was the stupid Johnny Wholestaff crap, like it was a matter of pride to not have 3 decent starting pitchers.

We already have some of the worst talent in the sec. Not sure how it can get worse

Why'd they part ways with Kingston? Seems like he was doing a pretty good job there.

we werent thrilled, we wanted Elander...but we also feared that Monte Lee would get the HC job. Paul was a far better hire than Lee

Kingston was atrocious.
Zero in game coaching acumen, terrible tactician, and didn't do shite to promote the school, the program, or athletics as a whole. He was awful, and never should have been hired.
Mainieri was one of Tanner's friends. Should not have been hired, but for whatever reason, Ray Tanner has seen it as his life's work to drive his baseball program into the ditch. I am hopeful that Mainieir and new AD Donati both realize that this was always a poor fit, and that Mainieir simply retires at year's end. No harm, no foul, but the program needs to be rebuilt.
It's a shame to see a once-proud program become what it currently is, but, poor leadership gets you there.
