Texas A&M is the definition of a cult

The fact that their fanbase and alumni still continue to support their mens athletic program when it’s down in the dumps show how brainwashed they all are.
That school truly indoctrinates their students to support them no matter what. Their football program could go 0-11 and Kyle Field would still sell out for the final home game against TU. And when they get blown out, their fans say, “Oh well, I’m still proud of our boys. We’ll get em’ next year Ags!” And yet when you bring this up to their fanbase/alumni, they immediately deflect and deny the problem. This is the reason why they haven’t won a single championship in all 3 of their men’s sports in over 80 years.

It’s more like 80-20.
20% of us are pretty pissed off about our AD and the state of the programs.
The other 80% feels it’s better to be nice and lose, then call a spade a spade. We truly lack accountability from the top down. For some reason us Ags believe it is uncouth to bad mouth our coach.
frick that. We pay these arse hats too much money and we invest a lot in facilities. Time to buck up.
On top of that, our past two ADs Bjork and Albert’s are complete morons.

I respect a culture that supports their teams no matter what. Aggies are A BUNCH OF WEIRDOS, but they're really good people. Knew plenty of Aggies growing up in Austin. Their athletic department seems to be made up of a bunch of shitheads who take advantage of those fans for easy money.

The “good ole’ boy” culture of boosters at A&M is too strong for them to hire competent leadership in the athletic department.

You see, this is exactly what I’m talking about. When someone brings up one of many issues with the culture at A&M, you guys immediately deflect due to the immense pride you have for your university. I can understand having a little bit of pride, but the amount of pride you guys have is beyond ridiculous.

No. Just because something hits your frontal lobe, doesn't mean you have to post it.
Think harder. Try not to hurt yourself in the process.

But he’s not wrong.
Everyone wants to stick their dick in the process of hiring coaches.

It looks a little different, but the net result is A&M has a Jerry Jones problem. With several Jerry Joneses.

I don’t really GAF about TA&M, but supporting your school/team when they’re down or fail to win championships is cultish? Nah. I went to Bama games and watched even when we sucked. A&Mers do exhibit some cultish behaviors but this ain’t one of them.
“Fair weather fans” used to be a proper putdown of people who abandoned their team in dry years. Bring it back.
