Unpopular opinion, but I think A&M has actually faired better than expected since joining the SEC.

In basketball: 6th in SEC win% since joining, one SEC title, and 5 trips to the NCAA Tournament

In football: 6th in SEC win%

They’ve certainly not achieved greatness but they’ve been very formidable.

I honestly think it's just one of those things that can't be explained.

Culture.

They have too many big donors who think they know more than the AD, whoever it is sitting in that chair at the time..

If they hired the right AD.. and if the donors got out of his way.. they'd get over the hump at some point.. They almost fell into one last year year in baseball, but they screwed that up too..

TLDR: They just need more time..

When Hayden Fry came to Iowa, he had some things changed including the culture.

They got better quickly.

Texas A&M has a pretty rich sports history. All titles won beginning in 2012 were won while in the SEC. They've won 21 national championships in..............

-- Women's Outdoor Field & Track (2009, 2010, 2011, 2014)
-- Women's Tennis (2014)

They've won a slew of conference championships, too, including the SEC......

Texas A&M has won a total of 178 team conference and tournament championships......96 titles were won during play in the Southwest Conference (93 men's/3 women's) while 58 were won in Big 12 Conference play (19 men's/39 women's).

Texas A&M has won 25 titles in the Southeastern Conference (6 men's/19 women's) with the 2019 Women's Swimming & Diving title being the most recent.

Texas A&M most recently ranked #6 in the nation in the 2023-24 Director's Cup sports standings.

Not bad at all for a program that "sucks".

for the money theyve spent however, they have come up woefully short. And that includes having a Heisman winning Qb and still not getting it done.
