Simpson is the clear cut starting QB, but their back up looks just like Jayden Daniels out there. Have we ever seen a teams QBs go 1 and 2 in the Heisman race?

Simpson has grown the last couple of years and will be a solid game manager. He reminds me of AJ McCarron. He is very athletic but nothing like Russell. Keelon is an absolute stud 5star from Texas who will be a great Bama QB. It wouldn’t surprise me if they split time.

If a true freshman looks like Jayden Daniels vs your defense, then he's either tGOAT ever or your defense sucks.

Ironic that Texas took the best Alabama QB

and

Alabama took the best Texas QB

Lacy is a Bryce Young starter kit.
Russell is a Jaydon Daniels starter kit.

Both have the potential to be great college QB's. Sark had the choice between the two early on, but Russell's stock skyrocketed after Lacy committed to Texas.

I'm not sure who Sark would choose today. Russell ended up a lot higher in the rankings, but a big part of that is Russell's running ability, and Sark doesn't like to run his QB.

Eh. There's a big difference between "having athletic ability similar to Jayden Daniels" and "making decisions with the ball similar to Jayden Daniels." If Russell has the first but not the second as a freshman, then I'm fine with sitting him and giving either Simpson or Mack a year until Russell is truly ready.

Last time I checked, Debo was still your head coach.

Looks like Jayden Daniels??? The kid hasn't played one college scrimmage game, much less a real college game, so how can anyone say he looks like a Heisman Trophy candidate? Or are you talking about his physical appearance?

Simpson is a lot more athletic than McCarron.

Probably will be Simpson starting the season but a good number of sources are saying that Russell is developing really well and should be very good by end of the season. Best case scenario: Simpson has a good year, goes pro, and hand ofc to Russell in 2026.

Mack is the least mobile of the 3 and may be a December transfer candidate.

Serious question.

How is someone already "developing really well" a couple of weeks into spring practice?

Jayden Daniels didn’t look like a Heisman candidate his first year at LSU and he had already played 2 years at Arizona State or whatever the first team was.

There were a lot of LSU fans that were regretting he was going to return that last season.

Russell has been working out on campus since December.

You pretty often make it very obvious that you have no clue how college football works.

He's "developing well" against air. I doubt he's had to throw a pass with a rusher coming at him. We'll know more when they start playing scrimmages and information starts to leak. But as of now, there's no way anyone can say "he's developing well".

You seriously don’t think coaches talk to sources?

If a skinny high school kid arrives in December, has no knowledge of the play book, can’t identify defenses in the film room, had crappy footwork and passing mechanics, and improves most or all of these things during the next 3 months, that’s a clear sign of development.

Sheesh

That poster us just hoping and praying that Russell isn’t as elite as advertised, because his shitty team lost twice to Jalen Milroe. Having to play an elite qb will not be fun

Plus, the elite qb his team recruited signed with another team.
