Xavier Basketball Coach to Texas: Has an Immediate Switch ever Happened Before?

Watching the Xavier coach get hired by the Shorthorns just after he had beaten Texas in its last game, got me thinking. Can anyone think of a time when such an immediate switch ever happened before?
Haven't followed the hire. Was the Xavier coach already top of the list for Texas before the tournament?

Something is going on behind the scenes. Texas still hasn’t officially fired Terry.

Sean Miller has been a great coach and learned from Thad Motta. He was excellent in his 1st head coaching gig at Xavier, then Arizona, and back at Xavier. Sure, he shite on his name getting caught in the recruiting violations, but he's a solid coach. It's a great hire for Texas, let's see what he can do with some funding.

His name has been the first name mentioned for weeks.. but most didn't know to buy it or not.. turns out it was true, so I think it was just a coincidence that we played them, unless someone on the committee knew and decided it would be funny to make us play each other.

Terry getting Texas to the Elite 8 in 2023 as the interim HC earned him the HC job.

Apparently CDC wanted to make the move to Miller in 2023 but when Terry & Texas beat Xavier in the tournament & made a run, he had to hold onto Terry.
My guess is CDC had decided on Miller weeks ago which probably explains his reaction when he saw Texas made the tournament and was matched up with Xavier again.

Word is Miller was going to be hired until Terry got the Texas team in 2023 to the Elite Eight as interim head coach.

It is official. CDC made a release about it and it was shared from official UT Austin platforms.

Not immediate but Virginia just hired the coach of UMBC who beat them as a 16 seed when they were a one.

Even moreso than that, we played Xavier in the Sweet 16 that year and RT beat him, which according to some, secured RT's job.
Chris Beard built that roster.
