Bo & Herschel didn't look that fast on a football field.
There are plenty of times that they were run down, or had guys running with them stride for stride.

Meanwhile I have never seen anyone come close to running down, or even running with, guys like Darrel Green/Ted Ginn/Deion Sanders.
Watch that old video of Darrel Green running down Tony Dorsett.
Look at videos of Ted Ginn absolutely annihilating angles.

Maybe Bo & Herschel had track speed, but it didn't translate to the football field.

They were the size of today's middle linebackers and ran world class speeds

And by the time they got past the LOS, the damage was already done.

Yeah they were fast for their size.
But we've always been told that Bo ran a 4.2, and Herschel close to it.
Yet they don't look anywhere near as fast as Green/Ginn/Sanders who also ran 4.2ish.
Bo's 4.2 didn't look anything like Green/Ginn/Sanders 4.2.

Nobody cares what it "looks" like to you. They have verified 100m times in college. The sub 4.2 40 Bo ran was electronically timed too at a pro day.

And Herschel Set a world record in the 60m dash which was a thing in the 80s and it took Carl Lewis to break his time.

Walker ran a 10.23 in the 100 in 1982 which was one of the top 25 times in the world that year. Amazing at his size. That is better than the best of Deion Sanders and Rocket Ismail.

I said they had track speed that didn't seem to translate to the football field.
Bo & Herschel didn't look that much faster than their competition.
Darrel Green, Ted Ginn, Deion Sanders ran by/away from guys and made them look like they were standing still.

Those two were and are iconic. I've seen a lot of great players, but those two were in a category of their own.

Nobody ran down Bo Jackson at full speed. He got faster as he ran.
