Okay- here we are, here we go…
My heart says champagne and confetti.
My eyes say…..white caps in a small boat.
What’s the consensus?

Auburn is a good team. They should do well.
Looking to stack up wins. On top of wins

My heart and eyes say we are probably lose in the Sweet 16. Just not satisfied with maturity and cohesiveness levels right now.

Never know till we see the matchups. This team can easily cut down the nets. We’ve lost 4 fricking games. We’re possibly the best team of all time statistically. Should have won yesterday too

We lose in E8 to the 3 seed

Me talking to myself...trying to figure out how good we will be.
Not peaking right now plus the injuries worry me a little.

I have faith in our boys this year. They'll figure it out

Ain’t no way I’m not taking em in all of my brackets. Got 4 I do every year ranging from 50-1000$. I’ve never taken us all the way, but ya damn straight I trust in this team. frick everyone but us

We are good enough to win it all. Along with about 8-10 other teams. I’m gonna go with elite 8 appearance. We could definitely get beat by a “top16” team depending on who we might draw in the sweet 16.

Not great that our worst week of the season is the most recent. But the week before that we looked great! Drubbed a NCAAT likely 3 seed on their home floor and beat another tourney team by 30.
Helps that we have a couple chances to “get right” though.. we get more rest than we have had in months and then a true “get right” game against a 16 seed.

I don't like that we're ending the regular season with a slide, but the Bama game wasn't THAT bad. We lost to a high level team in OT with CBM ejected and potentially the things we cared about already in the bag. I dislike it because it's Bama, but we obviously could have very easily won that type of game - the type of game you might play in an E8 or F4.
So based on that alone - a loss no less - we're obviously a team that is good enough to win a title. That's not been the case most years, barring some crazy hot streak, etc. This is also a team that has been more resilient than others. Multiple games this year were "the type" we would have battled in and lost in years past - beginning with Houston.
We're very, very good. Perhaps the best overall team. I don't think we'll win the title because it's a wild tournament and well, we're Auburn and I'm traumatized. But on record, on paper, on film, on everything - we're primed to make a deep run.
There just isn't a lot of evidence that we're likely to get bounced by an 8 or 5. Win games we should win and we've won all year consistently, get to the Sweet 16, and then win a couple of big games (which we've also done consistently). I've doubted this team a lot this year and most of the time they've shaken off the traps, etc. and just kept rolling. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt, which is not a particularly comfortably place for me when it comes to AU sports.
We could have another disaster, but despite the last two losses, I don't think this is a hot/cold team, I don't think we're running on fumes, etc.

Better slide now than in a couple of weeks. Hopefully they get back to where they were at mid season by tourney time.

Tbh the “slide” is exaggerated IMO. I think psychologically we had already won the SEC. Really think we’ll lock in for the NCAAs.
Wouldn’t be shocked with a 2nd weekend exit though just because it’s the tournament. If we don’t make the second weekend, we can be sad.

Do you think if Tennessee didnt make that damn near half-court shot our guys wouldve played better? As in would they play better under pressure? I cant explain Chaney's play the last few games.
3 points, 15 minutes, 1 rebound, 4 fouls
4 points, 24 minutes, 1 rebound, 3 fouls
3 points, 25 minutes, 3 rebounds, 3 fouls
13 points, 22 minutes, 6 rebounds, 4 fouls
4 points, 11 minutes, 4 rebounds, 4 fouls
So he is a fouling machine that no longer helps that much on offense and has pulled down a grand total of 2 rebounds in the last 2 games (39 minutes)

Correct. The “slide” was two games, only one of which was actually a poor performance.
All comes down to matchups and getting hot at the tourney though. We’ve seen teams catch fire at the end of the regular season/SECt and keep it rolling (Auburn FF team) and we’ve seen teams be on the brink of collapse leading into the tourney put it together and go on a run (bama’s FF team).

So he is a fouling machine
This seems to have been his issue. He gets way too many idiotic fouls early in the game and has to be taken out after 4 mins of play.

We really need him back in mid season form.

My prediction is we go through to the Elite 8 and lose. Overall I think Florida or Duke is going to win it all.
