2025 through 4 games:
W/L- 4-0
IP-20.1
K’s- 47
BB- 5
ER- 1
ERA- 0.44

Player B through 4 games in 2023
W/L- 4-0
IP- 24
K’s- 48
BB- 4
ER- 2
ERA- 0.75

Look familiar? Both played in the SEC and both played against similar talent through their first 4 games of their junior years! In fact, both pitchers pitched against same team one of the games. Player A looks like a top draft pick to me also.

When Liam Doyle shuts out the #1 team in the country in Omaha and wins ROY a year later we can talk

I’m sure you’re comparing Doyle’s stats to Skenes and honestly no one gives a shite

Has anyone said Doyle is not a good pitcher? He is. But I am curious as to how Skenes and Doyle can face the same team when one pitcher is in MLB spring training and the other is in college. Has Tennessee faced an MLB team?

We know Tennessee has a good baseball team. Posting about it 100 times a day isn’t going to make them any better.

Well Skenes would've only been a midweek starter at Tennessee....

Now, he's the standard they're trying to compare their pitchers to.

Skenes pitched against Samford. Doyle pitched against Samford.

Obviously I’m not comparing them to this year’s stats! I’m comparing Doyle states to Skenes college stats. And they both were juniors also. Sorry you can’t comprehend to what I was saying. But who would compare Doyle stats this year to Skenes Stats in MLB? This is simply a comparison between the 2 in their junior years.

Tennessee baseball under Vitello has been good enough on its own, not sure why posters like Serreneaux and OP have to inflate and exaggerate to make it appear even better.

It's either insecurity or they're actually Bammer posters trying to make real Tennessee fans look pathetic.

So was Tennessee 2023 the same team as this year?

Still have the same name! That was my point. I was comparing the type of talent both pitched against. Samford was a mid major then and a mid major now.

Neither had faced elite talent through 4 starts. This thread is stupid, but you knew that already

And why one is ahead of the other at the same point. And why player B went on to be the #1 draft pick. Even pitching against “no one”, Doyle is ahead of Skenes at the same point. Oh by the way, Doyle is also #1 in the updated Top 30 MLB prospects by Keith Law!
