They asked the question “What teams do you think we are sleeping on?”

Oklahoma It was another successful season in Norman for the Sooners, who made the tournament for the third-straight season after making it to the College World Series final in 2022. They went 40-21 (23-7 Big 12) and hosted a regional, though they were bounced by UConn. While the SEC will provide a sizable challenge, the Sooners again have the ingredients for a deep postseason run. I’m a particular fan of their rotation, which is headlined by potential first-round pick Kyson Witherspoon (8-3, 3.71 ERA). On the heels of an impressive sophomore season, Witherspoon had an equally impressive summer that was split between the Cape League and team USA.

quote:

Joining Kyson will be his twin brother, Malachi Witherspoon (2-2, 5.64 ERA), and lefthander Cade Crossland (9-2, 2.37 ERA). Crossland starred at Weatherford College in 2024 and possesses a fastball that has been up to 95 mph, a breaking ball that has flashed above-average and a comfortably-plus changeup that is one of the best of its kind—at least in the college ranks—in this year’s draft. LSU transfer Cam Johnson (0-0, 12.00 ERA) is in line for consistent innings, while head coach Skip Johnson has a litany of bullpen arms at his disposal.

quote:

The offense will again be led by catcher Easton Carmichael, who hit an impressive .366/.406/.563 with 31 extra-base hits, 64 RBIs and 12 stolen bases last spring. Senior Scott Mudler (.279/.367/.401) will provide maturity and a slow heartbeat that is synonymous with most veterans, while sophomore outfielder Jason Walk (.281/.376/.414) has a chance to break out. A high-level athlete and plus runner, Walk will man center field, and his skillset allows him to impact the game in myriad ways. The Sooners will have to rise to the occasion offensively and face a daunting SEC schedule, but their pitching staff could be the root of a deep postseason run.

Oklahoma being a “sleeper” doesn’t really make sense to me.

Not ranked in top 25 in most pre season polls. Thus the sleeper moniker

Lol, bragging would be if we were in top 25.

On the other hand your last 10 posts are about:

1. Complaining about this SEC BB post

2. Discussing B10 tOSU

3. Discussing ACC

4. Discussing Dawn Staley

I mean come on dude. Football, M Basketball and M Baseball are the big 3. And you are complaining about an article about baseball.

Should all posts be run through you for advance approval?

What is strange about a SEC baseball post with season close at hand?

Do your nuts hang side by side?

SEC baseball is probably more loaded than SEC Basketball. Just about everyone is going to have 2 to 3 All SEC players.

I wonder who will be this years Hogan Smith or Paul Skenes. The top pitcher in the conference, virtually unhittable all year.

Probably Drew Rerick or one of kids pitching for Max Weiner.

Oklahoma fans found out about SEC football this past season and they thought that was rough. SEC baseball season is playing CWS games week after week.

It’s Baseball America, not some obscure publication. I don’t think it’s bragging either.

I was kidding.. which is why I said a freshman.. who used to be committed to A&M.. and your old pitching coach.. just twisting the knife.. poking fun, hence the gif.. just a joke pal..

I've forgotten more baseball than most..

I’m going to be pissed if 60% of the games end up on ESPN+.

Why? It isn't expensive.. Methstreams or one of those will probably have them all if $$ is a problem.

I’m curious who will carry our game. I’m pretty sure we were on the LHN last year when we went to Austin. I’m trying to say that horn vs A&M deserves to be on ESPN2 at least. Last year Women’s Basketball took the ESPNs and a lot of baseball was demoted to ESPN+.
