The league's schedule-makers didn't do the Sooners any favors last year, with a gauntlet of a slate, especially compared to conference foes like Texas, who played just two league opponents with a winning conference record. OU, by comparison, played six, not including the Longhorns themselves.

Why not link the article instead of the article about the article?

Nobody knows who has the toughest schedule until the season starts. You can have a general idea based on consistent top teams and road/home splits, but very few people were predicting South Carolina to be significantly better than Auburn last season.

I hope we can keep the momentum.

I'm already looking forward to the SC game in the Columbia in Missouri. The games are usually great ones.

It’s comparable to Bamas, especially since we added FSU and Wisconsin. Texas has a lame duck schedule

You play Illinois state, temple and Kent state. Bamas is the hardest by far. FSU, Wisconsin and the SEC

Um, aren't FSU and Wisconsin pretty putrid right now?

OU plays Michigan out of conference, we saw what they did to Alabama. And OU plays tougher SEC foes than Alabama hence the toughest schedule. Meanwhile the SEC continues to roll out the red carpet for the dongwhorns.

OU will start 4-0

Don’t try to sell us you’re hosting Michigan of 2023. They will be starting a true freshman QB making his 2nd ever start and 1st road start

It will be a night game and yall will be favored. All you’ve been saying is you have the best QB in the SEC and everyone back on defense, so the schedule shouldn’t bother you

Arkansas plays Notre Dame and on the road against a Memphis team that just went 11-2. Goes to Knoxville, Oxford, Austin and Baton Rouge.

Two years in a row we open up against the National Champions.

And who cares who we play in the SEC? Didn't we determine the SEC sucks anyway?

Texas schedule is much harder next year

They have the toughest out of conference game opening at #1 Ohio St. Fan duel has them as a 5.5 point dog

Also at UGA and at Florida they will be dogs.

OU will be much improved and that game is usually a coin flip

A&M in a rivalry game is the same.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they were better next year and finished 9-3

Fair post, but once we started cleaning our plate everybody will say our schedule was soft.

OU is like Tennessee. Blame either the refs, the tough schedule, or injuries. Its never the fact your coach and players aren’t that great.

Venables isn’t even a top 12 SEC coach but he can do no wrong

Let me help you with this logic. You are now in the SEC which pound for pound has the toughest teams in the nation. Whenever it is announced that you have the toughest schedule in the nation that just means that they are ranking you last in the SEC behind all those teams.

Net net, you team sucks shite.

Keep up. It's only the teams we play that suck. In 2026 the new round of opponents will also suck.
The talk of us going .500 or worse a few years ago seems so long ago.

Oh yeah you're right. We certainly didn't have a record setting injury situation or anything like that going on. Let's just pretend it didn't happen so we can make a stupid point out of thin air.

You get a pass for 2024. It was very reminiscent of 2012 Mizzou, our first year in the SEC. LOTS of injuries. We went to Atlanta the next two years though, so you've got your work cut out for you if you're going to keep up with Mizzou in this conference.
