If Elliot can return back to his freshman form then we will have a good Friday night ace. If Maddox can be consistent then he will be a good Saturday starter then you have Mason Nichols on Sunday who is solid.

We can have a pretty good rotation this year, but not sure about the bats.

Yeah, I don't have much optimism for this year's team...

If those three stay healthy they are a top half or maybe even top quarter starting rotation in the conference.

I don't have much hope for our bullpen

Anything other than a second year in a row of dead last in offense would be a miracle. We might be historically bad at the plate

I predict a serious drought in the outfield this year. Our offense is about to be offensive.

We usually get the opposite of what we think we will.

Let’s see what the new pitching coach can do. The early reports say he has brought some life to the staff. If so maybe we won’t need a ton of offense.

Hopefully we worked on fielding the ball this off season.

SEC coaches poll has us finishing 15th in the conference. Ahead of only Missouri who must be really bad.

I read a preview somewhere on the internet that made us sound reasonably competent on the mound. Basically having Elliott back kind of makes everything else better.

But it said almost nothing about our team at the plate. And this was one of those sunshine pumping articles that ends with "if veterans get better, and freshmen contribute, and they avoid injuries, and some guys surprise to the upside, etc then the Rebels could turn some heads."

I mean, they had nothing to say about our offensive potential. They even said something about how we weren't even sure if we had three SEC caliber hitters to place in the outfield at the same time.

They said something about our new shortstop who passed on the draft and could be the next Gonzales. And that was literally the most positive thing this article said about our offense.

I won't even bother looking for it because it was too sad to bring up again.

I would love to just have a competitive team this season. That's really all I want.

If we can get to double digit conference wins I’ll be surprised. Rough slate ahead for a less than talented team.

Side note: why aren’t we playing LSU this year? Did that series get canned as a permanent rival?

I'll just be happy if we don't start 0-3 to kick off the season
