Wouldn't even have that one if FSU had thier starting QB.They beat a QB that had never played a down of football.

Or if Ohio State hadn't imploded for one half of one game. Mostly due to an opponent that shanked a punt so badly it hit a defender running downfield.

There is no inflation for time. 41 years is 41 years.
41 years (probably your entire lifetime) without title is pain and misery. 26 years isn't too bad even for big time programs in college football. Notre Dame's last title is 1988.
