For more visibility, I think it would be great to buyout 1 of the first 3 games and find a high profile team in need of a early matchup. I'm not asking for Ohio State, maybe Wisconsin, UCLA, North Carolina type of program.

If I thought adding another P-4 school would get us more respect I'd be all about it. The way things went this year, if we barely beat a team like North Carolina we'd probably get dropped a few spots in the polls.

I think 2024s lack of respect came from the 2 beatings we took. We really needed Cook to take the next step and the worst thing happened, he got hurt. Beating those first 3 teams sure the hell does nothing for our image. A Mizzou vs UCLA matchup just sounds better. Oh course this is IMHO.

I think most Mizzou fans want a higher profile OOC schedule, me included. As long as we don't get dropped several spots for barely beating UCLA, like we did when we beat Vandy this last year, I'm good with it. But a lot of these dipshits that vote are too lazy to investigate past the final score.

we aren't going to be preseason ranked. No networks are going to want to foot the bill to make it happen.

Why would a network be needed? No matter who we play, it's televised. I'm sure Arizona, ASU, NC State are someone at that level could use a game.

Those made for TV non Con games arranged in the preceding off-season tend only happen when the TV networks foot the buyout bill for both sides and make it happen.

I see what ur saying. I was thinking more along the lines of paying off Central Arkansas if the AD could find a P4 with some name recognition who we could play instead. I wasn't referring to those preseason matchups. We aren't a big enough name for that yet.

I would wait until next season which will have a different conference set up. No one knows what it will be like. That is when we could make the changes if needed for the 2026 schedule.

I like the idea.

Just no Purdue’s or Indiana’s please.

Would be just as boring.

I vote for ND; the only team I hate more is from that state west of Mizzou.

In an ideal world it would be one top 40 P5 program, 1 game against a solid g6/p5 and two blowouts.

The problem is how far out these games are scheduled. I wish it more like basketball, maybe a year or 2 out. but some of these are like Missouri agrees to play Clemson in 2041, get your tickets now!

That's why we could replace the cheapest "buyout" game which I assume is Central Arkansas. Someone posted ND, but I think they are way too big for this purpose. I would want someone with name recognition but mid level. UCLA, USC, Washington etc.

We are a good program, time for a really good early OOC game.

I agree.

The problem for now is most teams have their OOC finalized for next year. I know we start with ILL soon, but Id also like to play more B10 schools like Wisconsin, Minnesota, or even Mich st.

Yeah ur right about the schedule. It would take both sides to "buyout" a crappy OOC game. Maybe the former PAC 12 schools have some shake up in their scheduling. ADs from both schools would have to cooperate.

Let's say UCLA has a crappy week 1 game scheduled. Mizzou from the SEC is worth paying 750k to buyout the crappy game. The hard part is who gets to be the hometeam.

Probably can't be done. But I hope our new AD trys to get us more exposure through a stiffer OOC schedule.

It can be done, I'm not sure the AD cares as much to do it so quickly as us.

It would be awesome tho. Week 1 UCLA vs Mizzou in Columbia. Week 1 Mizzou vs Washington in Seattle. How about Week 1 Mizzou vs Belichek and UNC at Chapel Hill.
