Surely there is some sort of caveat, right?

Imagine a scenario where a guy is playing for an away team while being recruited by the home team lol.

Whats going on is there is going to be one league soon that comprises of most of the power 4 schools that have the resources and money to truly compete for a title and theyre going to just create a new sports league with a governing body, a commisioner, salary cap, players union bc they will be labeled as an employee of the university at that point, etc. like pro sports have. Its inevitable...being its pro sports now already.

We gonna have a draft too?

Trades?

This league will be totally separated from the University in some way? Completely separated from the athletic departments?

The players will be signing a collective bargaining agreement as well?

How, exactly, are they supposed to set this up?

I don't know what it does, but they didn't help themselves with the verbiage.

Now that this is out there kids (agents) can sue the frick out of the NCAA for any transfer and likely win.

Just an unbelievably stupid thing for the NCAA to release.

It's needs to happen immediately, this is fricking madness. I am a diehard college sports fan and I am starting to lose interest in whatever the frick this is.

They are in a legally untenable position.

I'm sure this will work like it does for any other student at the school.

Most schools will not take a transfer student during the middle of semesters.

Dont know but this shite isnt beong taken seriously enough by the NCAA. Theres a shitload of money involved and theyre non existent as it is. I just dont see the NCAA being able to govern this shite bc they are proving they cant...and wont. Ita a shitshow and tons of improvements need to be made. I have my doubts about the NCAAs future when it comes to bigtime college athletics and have for some time.

The NCAA has zero intention of fixing this situation. They saw their days were numbered and decided to burn the sport we love to the ground.

This is fricking stupid, but this isn't the NCAA pulling the strings.. as soon as someone doesn't like one of the rules, they challenge it and it completely rips everything left to shreds.. piece by piece

Unfortunately, I only see one solution.

College Pro Ball
Unionized Employees
Draft

Idk anything else that will work.

NFL LIte.

My Pappy used to say, "Sometimes you gotta make a mess in order to fix a mess."

I believe that what we're seeing right now is a dumpster fire. This may go on for a couple of years until it burns itself out.

Anytime you get lawyer/agents involved in anything .... it's going to change things for the worse.

This is beyond the NCAA, but they have already said the conferences could get together and change their rules. They need to stop allowing exceptions for transfer kids. For example, they need to apply ahead of time and get in just like a normal student.

This nonsense they just get in immediately anywhere they want to go because the athletic departments fastrack them needs to end.

You used to have to go through the clearing house and have your transcripts accepted. That needs to come back.

If it weren’t dead already, college athletics will die now.

Things are about to get even more stupid.
