Have amazing defense. Need to make some of those first half shots though

Don’t know if it was an off night for them, but their offensive guard play was offensive.

Not a knock on last night. It was a great win. But I think they’ll need far better guard play to make a run. Caveat - I haven’t seen nearly enough of them to know if that was typical play from their guards.

The guards are just too small...most of the night our lineup consisted of ONE guy over 6'6.....our two starting guards are both under 6 ft. That is eventually going to cost us....fun team, but this ain't the year.

Bama is good... give them credit... I think we are to streaky. Got way up for this game. Expect to get embarrassed in starkville Saturday

I hope we can keep Beard for the 2025-26 season but it will be tough. His agent will be a busy man by late March/April.

Honestly if we even shot average instead of below average that game isn’t close. This just shows what this team can be when they are 100% locked in.

If Dia keeps this up he is about to be a high draft pick.

They're very impressive now that Dia has become possessed. Their defensive scheme and execution is second to none, they have some shotmakers and Dia can be a difference maker. They run some bad offense and settle for ugly one on one stuff a little too much, but clearly a very good basketball team. Certainly physically and mentally whipped our arse last night from start to finish.

We will lose games because our size hurts us on nights when the other team has dominate paint players. Memphis exposed that earlier this month. But if we play that hard on defense it will at least keep us in most games. I don’t think we can match what we did to bama night in and night out, but they’ve tasted what they can be and at least have confidence they can play with anyone.

I think we'll make the tournament and can absolutely win some games because of our top-tier defense. I don't think we have enough firepower on offense to make a deep run, though

Beard won't stay at Ole Misss long they are historically terrible at Basketball.

Yep. I was surprised to find today that both Murray and Pedulla are actually 40% three point shooters, which really helps our offense. If Dia continues to improve and if Matthew Murrell can break out of his shooting slump, our offense could genuinely be pretty good.

I love how state made the sec championship game 30 years ago and went 8-5 that year and act like they were the 85 bears but congrats it’s all you’ve got I guess

It must suck to see us be successful and sustain that success. We will keep stacking 10 win seasons and recruiting at a high level.

Did they really lose 5 games the year they "won the west"? Surely that's not right?

Our guards scored 38 points last night. Our centers scored 23 and our forwards scored 13.
