I would go with Ohio State to win a close game due to their defense.

That year LSU only beat Texas by 7, Auburn by 3 & Bama by 5.
LSU's "defense" yielded 38 to Vanderbilt, 38 to Texas, 41 to Bama,37 to Ole Miss.
Defense wins championships.
LSU defense in 2019 was pathetic, as the numbers show.
Ohio State has one of the best defenses in College Football History.
And while I will give the Offense nod to LSU, it's not by much.
In the "Playoffs" they were only tasked with beating a Big 12 Team in the Semi's & an ACC Team in the Title Game.

Ohio State faced 2 of the 3 SEC Playoff Teams and beat them 71-30.
Ohio State also beat #1 Oregon by 20, and led 34-0.
What Ohio State is doing this post season is unprecedented.
If they finish by beating Notre Dame, who beat the SEC Champs by 13. then this Ohio State team is the new GOAT.
