We've been told this is a "different" Notre Dame team.
Ohio State opened as a 9.5 or 10 point favorite, depending on the sportsbook. The only national championship with a larger spread was Georgia-TCU.

Not this. This board has been pointing out that Notre Dame actually can win in the playoffs now that Kelly isn’t their coach.
It’s not the board’s fault that Brian Kelly’s biggest postseason win the last 15 years is the Citrus Bowl.

Brian Kelly felt he couldn't win a championship at Notre Dame because he felt like they couldn't compete with elite teams like Ohio State.
We will see if he was correct or not.

You’re setting this up so that if Freeman loses, you can say “told ya so.” All because you’re so desperate to defend Kelly.
The last week proves Kelly was the problem. Notre Dame can compete for a title. They just needed a better coach. One who doesn’t choke in big games.

I'm just going off of what Kelly said.
He said he wanted to go somewhere where he could win a championship.
Folks like you changed that to "win a playoff game" or "compete for a championship" but he still said "win a championship".
We will see.

Kelly also lost playoff games multiple times.
Comparing what Kelly accomplished to what Freeman has accomplished this year is asinine.

Maybe they won’t lose as badly since superior Marcus Freeman is the coach instead of known murderer Brian Kelly

This is basically the entire reason BK left.
He faced 2012 Bama, 2018 Clemson, and 2020 Bama and realized Notre Dame didn't get the skill players he thought he needed to win a championship.
Suddenly, folks like AHM21 claim Notre Dame is artificially "better" because they have playoff wins against non championship caliber teams.
But it seems they still don't have the horses to compete with the true championship caliber teams. Perhaps I'm wrong, we will see.

This game is not about LSU bud. Just bc Kelly is indirectly going to catch strays bc he coached there for over a decade isn’t a troll at LSU. I’m sure even LSU fans can come up with some funny Kelly ND jokes.
